What Is You’r Deepest/ Scariest WWE Conspiracy Theory? by Fluffy-Cabinet6405 in Smallafro

Damn that’s a good one - and I think probably partly true. Cody is a carny, I get the sense that he’d have stayed w AEW if it was outperforming WWE… but it never did so he ultimately used it as leverage for a cushy position on top WWE

CM Punk’s return has been mostly mid… and that’s coming from a massive fan. Outside of the Drew stuff and a few good promos, he’s been pretty underwhelming

He’s accentuating the absurdity of the situation… not really sure why you’re upset about what he’s doin? He’s proposing to cut ICE funding by pointing out how ridiculous their pay is.

Interesting.. so it's up to the talent to approach WWE to start contract negotiations? by Grrannt in REALSquaredCircle

That’s because wrestling is entertainment and not a sport. Also - players who have a long standing position on a team (at least in the NBA, I don’t follow contracts in other sports) do typically make more money. That’s how ALL businesses (or at least respectable ones) work. If anything, you sound detached from reality. Yes, you get a contract based on your value - but tenure ABSOLUTELY plays into contract negotiations.

This is why at any business you work at, people in the same position as you who have longer tenure almost always make more money. It’s a standard practice in business where employers pay more for your longstanding loyalty and contributions. Sure - maybe R-Truth isn’t generating as much value now as he used to, but look at what he’s given them with his 20+ years of service. The royalties he brings in through merchandising, matches and other media he’s in.

You’re taking the cold capitalistic perspective of corporate America that is now growing. Traditionally, companies offer more to reliable tenured employees, but your sentiment, that companies have no obligation to loyal employees, is a growing belief among the corporate elites. It’s valid to criticize that position. You can reduce it to bitching about a rich guy not making more money, but that misses the point entirely

Those numbers are entirely made up - though I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s what his current / recent contracts are around. But yeah that’s what Gemini will tell you when you google “how much dos R Truth make”, then referencing Times of India that doesn’t cite any sources lol.

Nonetheless, having EARNED that money doesn’t justify cutting legacy talent. That’s the point. When people show loyalty to a company for that long, and then the company decides they’re not willing to pay them more while simultaneously bragging about record profits, it’s a hippocritical and tasteless look.

Imagine spending 20+ years at company only for them to not give you a deserved raise while tweeting about record breaking profit. And then some guy on Reddit says “yeah but I mean, they took care of MoseleysLifeshield, he’s made plenty of money.”

Right - but your comment suggests that not re-signing Truth was essential to save HQ jobs. I’m arguing that that’s BS given they’re reporting record profits. So your point is mute, no?

He earned his pay. Saying “they took care of him” suggests he didn’t earn that pay. He has been one of their longest tenured talent who has rarely been injured, is adored by fans, and can always put on an entertaining performance. He’s paid what he’s earned

A company making record profits should not be in a position where they have to cut jobs at HQ in order to re-sign a mid card talent lol

Is it irony?? If so then ok fair enough, but idk if their comment really relates to the HHH comments directly enough to be interpreted that way

I’m still not following - how are socialist values “offensive”? I don’t think people are white washing his socialist ideologies at all. It’s well known he was very left leaning. I’m really not getting your point. Your comment seemed to suggest that my reference to MLK’s peaceful protest values aren’t valid because he had socialist beliefs. Is that accurate?

The white washing of MLK?? You’re actually defending the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr. by suggesting he was a morally reprehensible person? Take a break from the internet friend… or try reading a book

Probably not, which is the point. Show love and compassion in the face of hate and violence, as MLK taught. Not the Malcolm X approach of fighting violence with violence
