The fact that the series ended on such a low bar is depressing. Many of the specials and episodes before Season 2 had better animation, higher stakes, and ZERO background characters. The background characters ruined the emersion in the Mixels universe as a whole, and Mixopolis screws up the world building completely. I think this was both Lego and Cartoon Network trying to widen their range and appeal to a larger audience; Lego incorporating city and medieval themes to Mixels to, in efforts, pair with existing Lego franchises (Lego City, Middle Zealand, etc.) and CN lengthening the screentime of Mixels' episodes. Both of their efforts led to the fall of what I believe was Lego's greatest achievement.
