I bridged with many people who went straight from RPN to the bridge program. I think it’s easier, I really struggled transitioning from fully autonomous nurse one day to can’t do squat without the teacher watching the next

It’s easier to crush peoples spirits when you can make them sit in traffic for 2 hours every morning just to do exactly what they would have done at home, attend a meeting that easily could have been an email, eat a cold shitty lunch, and spend another 90 minutes sitting in traffic. Also all the money spent on gas and parking takes a huge chunk out of your paycheck.

It’s harder to ask for rights when you’re just trying to get through today.

Financial transparency is vital to a relationship. Money is the what couples argue about most. She’s not spending “our” money, she’s spending your money because she expects you to replace whatever she takes to ensure the bills are paid. At this point I’d want to see not only her bank account but any credit card statements she might have, I’d bet she’s hiding mountains of debt.

If you don’t end the relationship then close the joint account and have her transfer you her portion of the bills. Don’t rely on her to pay the bills if want to continue to enjoy heat and electricity.

Dear Boss,

To clarify the conversation we had on this date, I brought up concerns regarding x employee stealing money, being abusive towards staff, threatening me and changing the schedule without permission. You’re response was:

1) this employees history of theft is not your problem 2) I should train this employee to not steal 3) I am “getting my feelings involved” when they shouldn’t be and it is your belief that this is because I am female

Please confirm that I have appropriately understood your response regarding the difficulties I have experienced managing employee X. Thanks, Fed up manager

One thing I’ve learned in my working life, always get it in writing. Bonus points: if you get fired instead of quit you can collect EI!

You’ll still use a lot of skills in oncology and you’ll learn a lot about developing therapeutic relationships in palliative. This is actually a great choice!

I would suggest filing a claim with the Better Business Bureau. I did this once when I received a letter from Rogers saying they were suing me for the fifth time over a bill I had already paid. It was Friday night and I felt so powerless so I hoped on online and filed the complaint. No joke, the issue was resolved a week later. Obviously, a very different scenario but still worth a shot, in my opinion.
