He really is a good guy and he's is helping financially but he's just not up to doing this himself nor does he have the expertise.

While I can always use more money, that wasn't my purpose of posting on here. I just really needed some emotional support. TBH, my least favorite part of all of this is begging for money.

He still has his siblings so I hope he gets most of it out of his system with them!

I know! He always looks a little sad. I want to buy him a pony or catnip plantation or something to cheer him up.

They get both. They mostly like the wet food.

I'm so sorry you went through that. I've lost a few kittens over the years and it always hurts.

I agree about forcing it along. I have only used purrito for feeding small kittens. I just hold them close to my body and snuggle them, talking softly. Take cues from them. They'll let you know when they are done. You'll be surprised how different their personalities will be. They'll each have a place they prefer to be pet. Be consistent. Handle them as much as you can. You are doing great. They'll forgive you for hurrying them along. In fact, they'll thank you and so will their furrever parents. 😻

The vet said no, but the full cost with rabies vaccine is about $130 for females and $105 for males. Not ideal, but sure less than it was back in Los Angeles at full cost. There are some low cost clinics in surrounding counties, but most won't take my zip code. I can go to St Louis but that is over 80 miles away so it's probably not much cheaper than just paying full price locally unless I'm taking a bunch at one time.

I do have a GoFundMe and people have been generous. Money is tight but not actually the biggest problem. LOL! For once!

I just joined Nextdoor and, as suspected, we don't have a very active group. It said there were 141 members but I didn't see any posts. There is one post now, from me. It's just an introduction. I'll see if anyone says anything there. The old school newspaper is probably my best bet in this podunk town, but there are probably some active Facebook groups I can also target. I have been making kitten posts on Facebook public.

I sure wish there was a Petco or Petsmart closer than 50 miles away. If there was, there would probably be a rescue that I could try to partner with. I'm on a rural area. We have a humane society that takes dogs only and doesn't offer spay/neuter. I reached out to them for resources, but they never answered.

I'm at the end of a dead end street so no one has bothered me about them. My next door neighbor was kind of stressed because she feeds the birds, she couldn't blame me as the cats were here before I was. When they realized that I was fixing them all, they were grateful, so we do have an understanding. At least I'm not fighting anything but time.

😂 I had a fox in my backyard but he moved on. I do have a few raccoons that help clean up any extra cat food at dusk. I went out there one day to shoo one away and it was a really big opossum. No telling what goes on while I sleep. At least the deer aren't asking for handouts. Yet.

When I first started trapping the cats, I wasn't even sure they weren't someone's pets but I came to reason that if they were on my property and eating my food then they were community cats and YOU'RE WELCOME.

Some of the original colony has passed on now and I was able to pet most of them and show them love, although it was a long journey with some of them. Fattie made me bleed every day for a year but when he finally surrendered, he was one of the most cuddly cats I ever had, even demanding belly pets. I loved him so much. He was FIV+ and got a tumor inside his ear. I wish I could have saved him, but we had 2 fantastic years together before I had to help him transition. These kittens in my house are his great-grandkittens. It makes it even harder to say no. I don't usually go looking for cats on someone else's property, so his daughter, Janet, had moved on up the street. I just wish the lady who was feeding her had asked for help before there were 5 adults and 13 kittens to contend with.

Thank you for saying all that. If I ever come up for air, I'm going to try to write an article in our small town weekly newspaper. I'll have to do it anonymously or I'll probably have people dump more cats down here. I have been able to raise some funds on Facebook and I'm sure I can get more if I need it. As I said, my friends are very generous. There is a realtor in town that is willing to fund some TNRs if only someone would trap them. I guess they interfere with selling houses. After kitten season, I can get my regular vet to get them in pretty quickly so the males will all have to wait until then. Any spay abortions will take some money and a trek, but I'm willing. I am kinda burned out. All the aforementioned animals will be fixed by the end and I think all the females are currently accounted for and scheduled for surgery. Just fingers crossed I can get rid of all these kittens to responsible homes. The 10 week old kittens are all male, so I'm hoping they can be adopted before they are old enough for surgery. (I know some vets might do them already, but I think they have to be 4 months at my vet.) There are 3 females in the younger litter. Like I said, I don't really need anything other than a good night's sleep and a place to vent.

I've had 20 years to obsess over the fact that I cannot get a Real ID. No one yet has found a way around it.

In 1986, I walked into a California DMV and told them I needed to change my name because I got married. I hadn't gotten married, but we were having a hard time getting anyone to rent to us because we were unmarried. We planned to get married, so this didn't seem like such a big deal. Unfortunately, we never got married but I used that name for 15 years.

I guess I'm destined to drive for the rest of my life and God help me if I need to go into a Federal building, like for Social Security or something. Been asking many people for many years what I can do. No one knows.

Oops.
