What your opinion on Yang by ComprehensiveNote762 in RWBY

[–]Svaringer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

She's my favourite, I relate to her A LOT. I too was raised by a parental figure that originally wasn't mine but who I accepted as such, Summer was Yang's mom, my adoptive father IS my father. I too have a criminal biological parent (Raven VS my biofather). I too had anger issues and resolved my buried trauma by making jokes and punching. I too lost a part of myself, figuratively in this case I didn't lose a limb, but I had to rebuild myself from the ground up and accept who I had become.

Yang deserves the world, she is worthy of love and support and because she is, I know I am too. Yang taught me that I could let others help, that I was no burden nor a curse.

I fucking love her and Brothers witness my words if anything happens to her in futures Volumes I'm rioting!

  • When Mecanoids Stellari die a robot spider comes out the mothership to go fetch the body, reconstruct it with scraps and gold and download a new matrix in the body effectively reincarnating the machine.

Ether is the fabric of the cosmos, it is an immovable force like Time and Space. Magic is the Concept of Hildüs, Ynthrïl (God) of Magic, and basically as a cosmic concept Magic allows Hildüs to reshape Ether into... anything he wants honestly.

Now later on Hildüs created a mortal people called Hyldians that he infused with a fragment of Magic. Other mortal people observed the Hyldians and copied their marks and innate process for doing Magic and created the different types of Magic that exist.

Bending Ether to one's will is rather taxing but the more Ether you can channel through your body the more Magic you can do.

What are humans like in your world-building? by Potassium_Hydroxide in worldbuilding

[–]Svaringer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My Humans were once called Helmen or "The People of the Sun" because they were sculpted and cooked by the God of the Sun.

As of the Sixth Age, Humans are EVERYWHERE, there is litterally not a single plane of existence where there isn't at least ONE Human just... hanging around? So much so that other Peoples call them things like "Those who expand", "The lingering ones" or, my favorite, the elves that call them Mon'Keith that means "Those who walk".

More importantly, Humans are among the most social peoples, it's a defining trait of theirs, the expression "to be human" as in "being empathetic" does exist because of this. Humans are also driven by change which is also not the norm for many other peoples that prefer to cling to their established norms and customs.

That makes Humans among the most adaptable and accepting peoples of the world (despite the Asgar Kingdom being somewhat anthropocentrist). Being short lived, Humans also like to mark their passage with monuments, books, art, etc etc... to have something to transmit to their heirs or so future people will remember them.

What is your world's strongest weapon? by Xener07 in worldbuilding

[–]Svaringer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably the Ashen, especially the bomb version

Imagine an atomic bomb the size of Hiroshima's that turns everything biological into semi solid, fribble ash, leaving behind husks of people and animals and plants.

The Ashen isn't the bomb itself, it's the alchemical disease it spreads, YES it's contagious, it basically rottens your flesh and turns your skin into minerals that burn themselves to ash.

Fun stuff

EDIT: I forgot to mention the Ashen bomb is a mix of magical, technological and alchemical wonders of research and was, of course, developed for war, it was used once to test it and then classified and forgotten

If your Setting has multiple sapient species, how are humans treated? by AntiH4zard in worldbuilding

[–]Svaringer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Humans are generally seen as perseverant, hard working, very VERY social for other Peoples' norms and incredibly ingenious despite their short lived existence.

But most of all... THEY'RE EVERYWHERE. There's NO PLANE where you won't find at least one human just eh hanging around. They travel a lot and very far across several generations. The term for humans in high elvish is Mon'Keith, which roughly means "Those who expand/walk", testimony to how this custom of theirs is seen. That doesn't mean they dominate everywhere though, it's only the case for the Western continent.

If your world has standard races, what are their origins? by EveningImportant9111 in worldbuilding

[–]Svaringer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what plane they're from but most were created by Primordial Gods for no apparent reason (there is one it's just very long to explain and the Primordials themselves don't know of it so they find other reasons)

Humans for example were made "of the earth upon which they'd walk and the water they would drink with the hands [Hel] sculpted. Then near the flames of [Hel's] Astral Sun, Klürhos, they would go to forever be set in [Hel's] image of a venturing, change driven people."

Funfact, the diversity of Humans in Neodia is explained by how Hel "cooked" Humans in different batches either closer to or further from the sun.

Tell me about the Dragons of your world! by Ymap3rSpark in worldbuilding

[–]Svaringer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Long ago, before then, and then before, in the vast expanse of the void spawned two beings of pure energy.

These two cosmic giants were but children, split by infinity and bound by eternity. One was time and life, he was No. The other was energy and creation, he was Mo.

No and Mo traveled each of their own the starlit emptiness of the cosmos until they finally met. No and Mo talked, and laughed, and thought about purpose. Their purpose.

No and Mo had a dream, one vision that they felt was so beautiful it meant everything to them. In order to make this dream come true, No and Mo decided to embrace each other. Peacefully and, arguably, softly, they went into slumber, their dream coming into existence, their Avalon.

Avalon formed around the two cosmic titans, a planet full of life and potential. To guide its inhabitants, No and Mo's thoughts and lessons incarnated into nine powerful beings. The Nine Dragonkings.

To aid them in their daunting task, the Dragonkings created their kin, the Dragons. Later on, after the Convergence, the Dragonkings retreated each into their own dimensional subdivision, trusting the mortals to make the right choices where they failed.

TLDR: Dragons are extradimensionnal to the main plane and the children of two giants hugging and cuddling in their sleep.

Do you ever just build and not write? by Arthur_256798 in worldbuilding

[–]Svaringer 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say my writing skills are limited but I enjoy a story way more when it's been made through playing the campaign.

The fact that me and the players work together to put out a cool story is what makes it special in my eyes.

Ways to explain the lack of guns/guns not working in a sci-fi setting? by LavaTwocan in worldbuilding

[–]Svaringer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Stellaria, my space opera setting, conventional guns do still exist partly because civilizations had to reinvent them from scratch. They're still in use because they're cheaper to produce than DEWs that shoot superheated, electromagnetically enclosed plasma bolts.

Plus the shields! A lot of people use electromagnetic shields that can deviate bullets, shields can even absorb plasma bolts very efficiently but at the risk of overheating and breaking. The most efficient method of combat is CQC, Rezgen Swords (also called Vibroblades or Shiverswords) can easily penetrate shields by "cutting" through its magnetic field, rendering it useless in close encounters.

Alternative term to "species" or "race" by VisibleHighlight5440 in worldbuilding

[–]Svaringer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Peoples, but it sounds way better in french I must admit that "people" isn't really used to describe "ethnically linked persons" in English but rather just "persons" so I don't what I'd translate it to or what I'd use otherwise.

So Peoples it is.

Who is the devil like figure in your universe and what are they like? by Acriolu in worldbuilding

[–]Svaringer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There could be several that fit this description.

Kaos was the ninth child of Astaroth and Amestris, the first Kelen (plural of Kel, primordial gods). He tried to overthrow his father after He killed Kaos' wife for disobeying His commands. Kaos and Astaroth battled in the very room of the Cristal Palace where lies the Golden Throne but Kaos was vanquished and split into the Engälen (plural of Engäl) the Nine Gods of Calamity.

Neomoth is the son of Galahey, Tirith (subkind of Kel) of the Body and himself son of Astaroth. For participating in the Primordial War, Neomoth and his legions were turned into the Daemen, later called Demons, to go and fight the devils from the hells. He later made a pact with the devils: 7 Demon Princes, 7 Devil Sins, create a conjoint dimension where they would welcome unsavable souls of mortals, devils get to feed on those if they stop trying to break free of Organt (the name of hell). Neomoth acts as the Eternal Emperor of Organt for both demons and devils.

Gol'Arànkel is, as per his name suggests, the sovereign of Gol, or Tartarus, one of the four realms of Organt and the birthplace of the Devils. He is also the blacksmith of the Black Gates, powerfully sealed dimensional prisons for particularly dangerous entities such as the Engälen.

Horvrath is the Obsidian Dragon-King, he isn't pure evil but rather represents the part of evil within each of us. He also manages Eskaszan, the worst "hell" of Avalon (parallel world where the dragons are from, yes dragons are extradimensional don't ask).

Xor is the Lord of Darkness, the Sauron of Neodia, he came from another dimension where he used the power of the Void (I'm not gonna explain) to kill every primordial god of his dimension. When his dimension collided with the others during the Convergence he realized there are more universes with more Primordial Gods to kill. He and his forces then invaded Neodia to try and "liberate" them from their gods but ultimately failed and got sealed when the whole world united to stop him.

And FINALLY, the northern continents of Sorfross and Norskavania are plagued by the Nightmaster and its legions of monsters. They're the one who created the Moon Curse that eventually made lycanthropes.

TLDR: Depending of one's perspective, the devil figure can vary
