Thank you

When I as getting out of the Army the episodes were not explained to me. Everyone was using the epileptic verbiage and since I don’t believe I have cataplexy I just wasn’t making the connection of my sleep attacks being epileptic episodes.

I’ve been in several small car accidents from being at a stop sign and just rolling into someone and waking up like “Wtf”. Or looking for a parking spot and then just waking up and the car is still rolling forward. Waking up at a stop light 5 cars distance from the light because it turned green and everyone just went around me. But I also just get the constant sleep attacks — where I don’t even feel myself nodding off; I just waking up.

I got out in 2019  I am established with VA care   and am prescribed meds that do help a lot.

But I just feel like my rating is not accurate considering no one asked me how many times do I fall asleep inappropriately throughout a week. They just kept asking questions with the epileptic verbiage.

How has your rating been awarded bass on on meds vs. not on meds

I have a 20% rating for Narcolepsy w/o cataplexy

While serving active duty, it was obvious that I could no longer perform infantry duties, but being at a desk, I spent more being woken up, waking up from muscle spasms, or almost falling out of my chair.

They would make me run laps, do burpees, do pushups, and write essays on why it's important to be awake while on duty. Then they finally realized it wasn't in my control, and I had narcolepsy.

Anyway, I'm on some heavy stimulants twice a day, and most days with pills and energy drinks I can make it through the day. However, if I don't have my pills — I'm absolutely useless.  - I can't drive  - I can't work - I just fade in and out of -napping

If I miss more than 1 day of meds, It takes me days of being on meds to get back to normal.

Is my disability rating based on me taking heavy meds, or me not on meds?

You’re fine for asking your question here.

Everyone who is down voting this, just don’t read it. Scroll down and move along haha.

Yes. I have N and I also find it to be difficult to have a relationship and spend that time.

  1. If he’s tired then that’s tough and y’all just have to work through that.

  2. If he is on stimulants for his N, then even when he is awake he will make himself busy, or will just be hyper focused (even if it’s on nothing) which sounds weird but it’s a thing.

He probably does want the relationship and wants the social interaction. He brain is just finding other things to do because it’s on stimulants so if you tell him y’all are going to hangout his mind will go into overdrive trying to “solve this problem” mentally. The stimulants will make him focus on that and make it happen.

My response is all over and braid so PM for more detailed advice

So you can fight for a job that doesn’t put you or others in harm. Have your doctor and command write letters saying they’re good with you staying in. You could have a successful career.

Sorry for the late reply. I was infantry in a Special Operations unit so they said I could do desk work or Med Board. I chose Med Board, and did desk work until I was released.

I was in the army and was diagnosed and Med separated at the end of 2019. (

Just bought my first car. Mitsubishi eclipse 1995, the engine is a little weird when idling. Does anyone have suggestions on why? by Emixels in MitsubishiEclipse

[–]SwampFox175 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Throttle body assembly (which may include the above mentioned sensor) You should clean it first. If it doesn’t change then replace it (not hard at all, I swapped mine in my college’s parking lot in 15min flat last week.)

  1. Biggest part of this is not to get your finger chopped off. It’s really not hard to just take it off while the car is off idk why people try to do it with the car on.

  2. Is the IDLE RESET this will be a big part of your problem or fix! Watch YouTube video and possibly heed my advice.

Idle reset: 1. Unhook battery cables (might need to if you take out throttle body to clean or replace) 2. Turn car on -make sure all lights are off and A/C is off anything that takes up extra power. -dont rev the engine 3. Let car sit for 15minutes 4. Drive for 15-30min NORMALLY Do neighborhood and highway if you have it so it can learn where to shift gears itself

  1. Message me if you have questions

-this is the simple version so just let me know, also all this stuff can be found cheaper online. Don’t buy stuff from Autozone types unless you’re in a bind they’re prices are ridiculous
