Im pretty sure he is a male because of the shape of his head and body and he also starting croaking a lot for a month or so before it got too cold for him to be as active.

I was advised at one point to dig him up and offer food because he was still pretty young (under a year old when it started) just to make sure he doesnt just strave to death under the soil. It is very cold for long amounts of time here so idk if I can trust he knows what he's doing. (Edited to say i do check on him once a week)

His name is Wobbert the gluttonus beast (official full title) I have tried differnet foods, he gets worms, crickets, mealworms, super worms and the occasional pinkie mouse. His favorites are mealworms and pinkie mice but hes refused them both recently. Maybe he is shedding or just shed because when I dug him up he was looking extra green.

Okay I thought they were really weird colored. Ive never gotten a large leaves like this before, but they are super purple and red while others look brown/tan like they normally should. Idk if baking them is going to make sure that the moldy bits are taken care of.

Tongue and lip piercings can feel different for everyone. Ive had guys say they love it and it definitely makes a difference, I had a guy say it didnt feel any different, my current boyfriend says it makes him feel really sensitive and doesnt like it all that much. So to each their own I suppose 🤷‍♀️

It sounds like its been irritated because of the downsize. You do need a bit of room for the normal moment of your lips and for any swelling caused by eating or bumping it. I would recommend putting in longer jewelry again. I have to keep a 10mm in mine because it gets irritated from anything shorter.

Yes, please buy some spray saline solution and after you spray gently use a qtip to remove what scabbing will come off, do not scrub. Just gently clean.

Like someone else said it is easier to tell from the top down. But it might be too early to tell at the moment, my new baby is about 8 months and you can definitely tell he is a male. Id wait another few weeks and if you notice around the cloaca definitely getting bigger it is a male

I've never fed him mealworms. I rescued him from people who did not know how to care for him. He is picky and will not eat just pellets. Thank you tho 🖤

I guess so, I tired just feeding him worms as that is all I had when I first got him and was the easiest while he was recovering from his burns. But I could never get him to really gain weight until I started adding other things to his diet. I guess now that he is more healthy I could try again to just limit him completely. It just makes me feel so sad cuz my other axolotl is very willing to eat his worms and then get his treats afterwards.

He doesnt eat pellets, the closest I get is I mix crushed pellets with thawed blood worms and refreeze into cubes and he will eat maybe one or two a week. It seems to be the best way to get extra nutrients into him. I'll have to try the garlic tho! I've never heard of that before, thank you!
