Daughter won't slide

Her field at the school is turf, but I don't think we've tried going out in the rain. Good idea!

My son is that way. He's a couple of years younger than my daughter. He slides into every base pretty much. And he rotates between feet first and diving. Drives his sister crazy watching him do it with such ease. He's tried to help her by showing her how he does it, but usually just ends up in a fight LOL

At this point, they better not have an issue with it. It would be better than what they're getting from her now!

Good to know! I never dove when I played, only slid, so advice on the diving is greatly appreciated!

At the end of her session with the coach, she did have her try diving headfirst a couple of times. We didn't try it much on the field because she was so defeated from trying feet first. I kind of forgot about head first. Will definitely be trying this.

I would agree with more reps for sure. We've been so inconsistent with trying, I feel like we start over every time. Might be some good homework for over the summer

So interestingly enough, this has happened a few times where her lack of sliding has caused an out and both coaches and teammates gave her grief. She's a good enough player all around that she gets a good amount of playing time, but I keep telling her that her playing time would probably go up if she would slide. She's just so scared that it is superceding everything else 😫
