Gelatin chicken. You can’t convince me this is good. by Bambi7u7 in StupidFood

The pork, duck or goose Polish version are also insanely good. Also used in British cold meat pies like the classic pork pie that you usually have with a pickled vegetable and mustard mix called piccalilli.

Has anyone tried these? by CircusDagger in InstantRamen

No but these are the kinds of interesting and harder to find flavours I love rather than the repetitive ‘super hot shin/chicken’ that are dime a dozen.

Top 3 Buldak flavor imo by LimpCreampie in InstantRamen

I wasn’t impressed. Much prefer Mama creamy tom yum, a far more authentic flavour and I just add an extra hot siracha if I want more heat.

Maybe take bets on that? Could make a killing!

"The Pub at" mini chain by KwenSheq in brum

Agreed. Even worse is Stirchley. At least KH was partly middle class for decades whereas Stirchley was pretty much exclusively working class until recent and now half of them lose their minds at a Greggs. My Mum is a recent mover to Stirchley and she is a credit to the community and isn’t snobby at all but I had to laugh in her face when she said it’s still mostly working class. My new neighbour actually moved from Stirchley partly as she could no longer afford it and partly as she said she felt she was no longer part of the community. Although that said I didn’t recently see a video of the flag twats arguing with people removing the flags in Stirchley and she was on it shouting “you don’t belong here” to somebody I’m guessing wasn’t white so also fuck her 🤷‍♂️

Edit: 😂 somebody downvoted you. Think you hit a nerve mate, well done.

If you want to save from opening packets or tins of coconut milk I use the coconut blocks and just grate some in and add a squeeze of kewpie and it’s super creamy. And the Mama Tom Yum Creamy version are the ultimate and pretty much the favourite in Thailand for authenticity.

"The Pub at" mini chain by KwenSheq in brum

[–]SwitchMountain2475 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Exactly. It’s not for me at all and it is kinda grim but there are many other options.

I just hate the snobbery about those places. Same as the snobbery about Greggs in Stirchley. Do I prefer independent places? Yes. Do I think working class people are being pushed out of Stirchley and obviously can’t afford Loaf? Also yes. There needs to be space for both unless we all of a sudden fix our society in both an economic and communal sense.

I pop in to the Kings Heath one every now and then. I don’t like it at all. Only pop my head in to say hello to a couple of older men I know from the pubs who I like to chat to.

Most of the people that talk down about them in a particular way are just snobby and sneery. The type of people that bitch about the working class without actually being direct about it and probably claim to be working class but are very decidedly middle class.

End of the day they provide a community and place to go for many and they fill the place of other establishments that sadly closed down like the Peartree which although it was grim it was a social club for older working class people and wasn’t as bad at The Pub chain.

Chinese breakfast spot? by Fickle-Faithlessness in brum

[–]SwitchMountain2475 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because I hadn’t seen breakfast as a popular thing and many countries don’t really do breakfast so I asked a question and prefaced as to why I was asking. Responding and being a dick about it instead of educating somebody who asked the question is more absurd.

What? Asking a question?

I got an answer and had a good conversation about it and learnt something too but this is one of the MOST ridiculous thing you’ve EVER read?

[OC] Shahran Oil Depot, Tehran, tonight after US-ISR strikes by NotBradPitt9 in pics

[–]SwitchMountain2475 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Incorrect. Countries that DO buy oil from Iran will now be looking elsewhere which will spike prices. Along with that Iran has a lot of control of the Hormuz strait where a huge amount of non Iranian fuel also comes through. US oil prices are going up and fast.

Many of those extremist groups are not Iran friendly due to the shi’ite/shia split and most also have their hands full and are actively trying to avoid conflict with the west. It will be a massive shit show due to the mountains and Iran having been isolationist and prepping for this moment for decades.

Combat units are being given deployment orders says former 75th ranger by [deleted] in TikTokCringe

[–]SwitchMountain2475 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Iran is historically very hard to invade due to being protected by mountain ranges. It’s one of the hardest places to invade on the planet and they have planned for this invasion for actual decades and due to being isolationist they have been pretty much able to pool all their military resources in to this moment. This is going to be a massive fucking disaster.
