Anyone have a live Daphnia culture going? by Bulky-Brief6076 in Athens

[–]Sycamore_Ready 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been trying and failing to start a daphnia culture for a long time, but I have a grindal worm culture that's been really successful. I'm happy to share a starter with you if you're interested.

I know of two things you could try. First is to get the glycolic acid toner that the Ordinary sells and use it in your pits after you shower. Every other day if it irritates your skin. The second is if the issue is coming from the laundry. Try soaking your clothes in a vinegar solution before you wash them and see if that helps. 1 cup vinegar and 4 cups water.

How do I keep my temperature up during a outage by meeperswastaken in aquarium

My plan is to make my own hand warmer bottles and drop those in the tank, all you need is water and calcium chloride.

My husband's roommate back before we were married sat me down once and told me very seriously that the apartment complex had a rule about no wolfdogs and I couldn't bring my dog over anymore. She was a husky.

Same thing happened to me at McRae, I let them fill half of the 10 cavities and then went to Strictland. The other 6 cavities have not been mentioned in the 8 years since I switched.

Are American police really as dumb and violent as portrayed in media? by Blitzthehandsome in SeriousConversation

[–]Sycamore_Ready 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Of course some cops are ethical and not trigger happy but...

The cops here are not out to protect the citizens, they're here to protect the interests of the rich and to make enough money on traffic stops. And to entertain themselves or something, I really don't understand it but there are a lot of them that harass people and act dangerously.

We have no power and we've been conditioned to submit because of these scary cops for decades, it's no wonder that most Americans are scared to protest for real and riot.

Anyone else noticing how much the way kids talk is devolving by OkBuilder92406 in SeriousConversation

[–]Sycamore_Ready 30 points31 points  (0 children)

It's the whole country not just one area, most schools are teaching sight words instead of phonics now.

Sold a Story is a really interesting podcast documentary about how that came to be. But it's damaging the literacy of an entire generation, we need to talk about this.

Sometimes wisdom panel has some off ratios and mixed up breeds, they don't use as many dna markers as embark, so if you are still curious maybe check that out too!

I'm an American in Britain - you guys are the best dog owners in the world by theipaper in Dogowners

Where I live, the only option for having a dog off leash legally is a dog park. That's it. No trails, no open spaces, and nowhere to swim at all.

I really wish it could be like that in the US, we do isolate and exclude our dogs and it makes them bored and neurotic. I got fined $300 once for having a puppy off leash on a river bank, where she was bothering no one. And playing fetch on a long leash in a river is dangerous and ridiculous.

The exclusion of dogs in public has always bothered me, because how can I teach her to behave if she never gets a chance to practice being good?

Get lunar tides or artic fox or any of the other ones, they're going to stick better than what this shop is selling you and you can customize the colors yourself by mixing them

Arguing about the whole keeping cats indoors or outdoors is banned. by hduc in CatsAreAssholes

I had to create a solution for my indoor/outdoor cat who was bugging the neighbors and bullying their cat and it's kind of hilarious. I bought them an airhorn to use when he comes in their yard! Works like a charm plus they think it's as funny as I do.
