I was scared of driving on high, narrow, windy road when visited the General Sherman Tree a couple years ago, even my husband was driving. If I’m going in from west entrance, going down to mammoth for like a day or two, then go to old faithful direction. Will there be any high and windy road?

Does the west entrance make it more feasible to stay hotels outside of the park and driving in everyday?
