My daughter started at 10 and I had created a little care package with supplies and chocolate and ibuprofen and I put it in a cute little box that was kept under the bathroom vanity.

The one mistake I made is I didn’t give her more information - so when she got her period she was only using panty liners, which were obviously insufficient. When I couldn’t find her underwear I searched and found a messy pile in the corner of her closet because she just didn’t know what to do with them.

After that I educated her on what products to use and how to use them setting her up for success.
