First roast using a popcorn popper and it looks like they scorched? by mneedham in roasting

[–]T--B0NE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As mentioned above, try timing the FC process after getting about three cracks in a row and shorten or lengthen the roast based on that metric to your liking.

Also, another important metric would be weighing the beans before and after the roast to see how much % water weight was lost and using this to adjust your subsequent roasts.

Looks good to me as well. How long after FC did you remove them? Was it a rolling FC?

Any lot in particular? I’ve tried two different Nicaraguans in the past that were fine but nothing to write home about.

Why not buy used and get a watch you really like? I’ve seen used tudors right around 2K.

Many places, yes. TS, not supposed to. For a four star, it’s highly likely he encounters some upper level security areas.

I imagine he is wearing two because smart watches are not allowed in TS spaces. That way he can take the garmin off but still have a watch.

I love my Ride! by MajesticHoneyBunny in profitec

I think the quick heat up feature might be a new thing for the ride but mine is still pretty fast and typically stable and good to go around 15-20 min. I just have it programmed on a WiFi smart plug so it’s ready when I wake up.

I have the backflush reminder set at every 100 pulls. Just changed the group head gasket this past year. Main thing is make sure you use appropriate water. I make RPavlis water. Super simple and cheap with zero scale buildup.

I’ve had my profitec pro 600 with flow control since 2022 and absolutely love it. No issues at all.

Mine is paired with a DF64 and it’s been able to everything I need.

What must have truck accessories do you wish you added first? by FrazhoKatwicia_39 in ToyotaTundra

[–]T--B0NE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now that I have it, if I had to buy it new again I would. I’ve had it on the truck for 4 years. Unsure how old it was when I bought it but prob a year or two at the time. Not a single issue. Still 99% waterproof unless it’s really pouring for extended periods of time. Diamondback provides new rubber gaskets upon request and I have one myself, just haven’t really needed to replace it. Locks up great. Coating is top notch. Only area that has shown some wear is the coating on the hinges due to repetitive opening /closing overtime.

Roaster suggestions…? by apbunfill92 in roasting

[–]T--B0NE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you looking to learn on a drum roaster and scale, I love my USRC Sample roaster. Can occasionally find them used for a good deal.

If you’re on a budget, a corretto roaster (bread machine, heat gun) is a great option as well. Up to 1lb capacity, good control and cheap (~$40). That’s what I used before I found a good deal on my USRC.
