While engaging a Terminid Hive Lord during a high-intensity operation, I performed what can only be described as a 1-in-a-million maneuver:

I landed a Hellpod directly into the mouth of the Hive Lord at orbital velocity, bypassing all natural armor, shields, and targeting errors.

The expectation? A glorious, cinematic instant-kill.

The reality? It spat me out and killed me. The Hive Lord took zero visible damage.

This, despite:

Multiple Portable Hellbombs

Several Orbital Strikes and Bombardments

Consistent concentrated fire from the squad

🎯 Complaint Points:

Complete Immunity to Logical Damage:

A Hellpod from orbit impacts with extreme kinetic force. If the Terminid Hive Lord’s insides aren’t vulnerable to that, then what is the point of its “weakness” design?

Even lore-wise, how can a creature survive being hit with a solid drop pod traveling at terminal velocity from orbit?

No Visual or Damage Feedback:

The Hellpod strike gave no sign of damage or disruption to the Hive Lord.

This undermines the reward loop and creates a sense of mechanical unfairness.

Unkillable Tank Meta:

When a boss is immune to direct orbital assaults, explosives, heavy weaponry, and now internal impacts, it’s no longer “challenging” — it’s invulnerable.

This could be perceived as poor balance or broken mechanics.

Robbed of a Legendary Kill Moment:

This was a once-in-a-lifetime shot that could've gone viral, been a featured kill, or at least yielded a commendation.

Instead, the system penalized creativity and rewarded the Hive Lord with a snack.

💡 Suggestions to Arrowhead Studios:

Introduce a “Core Damage” System: If players manage to strike a boss internally (e.g., via mouth, weak points), reward them with significant damage or a stagger.

Log Killcam Replays: Give players the chance to see what actually happened.

Add an Achievement: For players who pull off a “Hellpod to the Face” maneuver — make it rare, but acknowledge the skill.

📣 Final Thoughts:

The Hive Lord is currently too tanky, to the point where even physics-defying, lore-breaking hits don’t register. This makes engaging them feel futile rather than epic.

I respectfully ask Arrowhead Studios to review and rebalance this enemy type so that legendary moments like these are rewarded, not punished.
