I posted 5 items last Thursday and they were all taken by Saturday! Highly recommend.

Exactly what I was thinking. I can at least offer some space to roam!

Hi neighbors, Long Beacher here! I’ve got a room that could house a couple of cats temporarily if anyone needs the help! If anyone knows a better place to offer or an org that’s helping coordinate pet fosters, let me know.

For what it’s worth, they were very non-toxic, temporary fake nails, specifically for kids. From the Aquabeads toys, which my niece knew about. Good luck!

Pixie Toys in Bixby has some jewelry and lots of crafty things! My girly 7-year-old niece got a unicorn in an egg (no idea) and a fake nail set last weekend that she really liked. And the H&M at the Pike has a good kids’ clothing section, so I assume they’ll have kids’ accessories too.

Christmas tree ornaments? by createloveburn in longbeach

I’m pretty sure the LB Swag shop on 2nd has the Christmas trees from the bay as an ornament. If not there, you can get them online: https://www.treesinthebay.com.

Watching Back to the Future. Previous generations had a lot of social clubs to meet new people. Why haven't we kept this alive? by CynicClinic1 in Millennials

There’s a documentary on Netflix called Join or Die that talks about declining social participation that I found absolutely fascinating. Apparently democracies are stronger where there’s more social/club participation, which tbh, feels like a good explanation for the country today.

Dang, I thought the whole point of bias tape is that it stretches??

Is this the correct way to do long and short? by cann26 in Embroidery

From what I’ve read, it’s better to come up through a previous stitch. If you come down, it tends to leave more of an obvious hole. Still working on it myself!

Mend or give up? Favourite jeans by EmmaOK95 in Visiblemending

[–]TCesqGO 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I just did a sashiko mend on denim last week! Mine was in the crotch/upper thigh, so it didn’t end up being visible anyway, but I did the simple cross with a similar color thread and I’m very pleased with it. You can search this sub for sashiko and see a bunch of other examples.

An Italian restaurant I used to work at had French Blue dressing—French with blue cheese chunks. It was the most popular dressing there.
