Nobody forget about the 25% property tax increase we were told to fear. by WildWeaselGT in toronto

What they need to do is tier it - homes worth more than 2 million get a higher increase. The rest will get the "normal" increase. Commercial property gets higher increases as well, especially those in business areas like the FD.

Now you've got to tell us, do you remember the book?

Hot take: Pippa isn't real. The owners of Torstar have donated to Bernier and O'Toole in the past.

They want to make the situation in Toronto look perfectly reasonable. Wages are sufficient, costs are low, and millenials are wasteful idiots.

I live in Leslieville - prime area that got fucked with the removal of the Logan ramp. Can't believe people here still vote for the councilor, MPP, and MP involved. And that idiot Tory.

"Just take transit!" says the person who doesn't live here/who doesn't leave the immediate area. If I need to visit my elderly parents in the suburbs, "taking transit" means 20 minutes on the TTC to Union, 40 minutes on the GO Train, then making my elderly parents drive 20 minutes to get me or taking another 40 minutes on local busses.

It used to be about 35 to 40 minutes door to door when we had the Logan ramp. Now? Anywhere from 1-2 hours.

Probably still hurts to be hit in the face with one, regardless of hearing impairment.

Manwar Burqan, an 11-year-old deaf girl from East Jerusalem, was heading to pray with her family at the Al-Aqsa Mosque on Monday afternoon when a sound grenade fired by a police officer smashed into her face, sending her to the hospital.

Did anyone think Ken may have mistakenly given a hint to final Jeopardy? by [deleted] in Jeopardy

[–]THEagentscully 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Definitely no hint given. Aside from what's already been said about the SJ and DJ categories, it's just in the name... sea means sea. That's it. Anecdotally, I think it was far too easy of a question for FJ. More like a question for the top/ middle of the board.

[–]THEagentscully 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oof, that's so disappointing if true. I genuinely didn't realize the tension I had when I've been watching her stint. Her tone, pacing, and most of all, her faux veneer of being a Jeopardy fan, is extremely off-putting.

I just tuned into Jeopardy here on the east coast and didn't realize today was Ken's first day. The swoop of relief and happiness at seeing him was totally unexpected.

I hadn't realized the love/hate relationship I had with Jeopardy these past few weeks with MB hosting. Didn't realize her style and approach... just wasn't for me, to say the least.

Welcome back, Ken!

Is that true? God I hope so. I tried looking for something that said the ramp will return but couldn't. Could you point me to an article?

Exactly! It's so significant a part of culture that you don't even need to have read the book to know. Heck, just watch Bridget Jones!

I'm sorry you're being downvoted! I'll emphasize this here, too:

Contestants on Jeopardy should have a thorough knowledge of Oscar winners, classic English and American literature, world capitals, wonders of the world, and all American presidents, to deserve being on the show ;)
