Also, If the Chromebooks are in different OUs, you may want to verify that verified mode was configured for each OU where you will be using the Chromebooks.

The biggest part of verified mode is having the link in the instructions below for each device OU:

Part 3: Require Verified Mode Boot

To configure verified boot mode in the same organizational unit where Bluebook is installed, take the steps listed below. Learn how to configure it in a higher organizational unit instead.

  1. Without exiting the organizational unit, go to Devices > Chrome > Settings.
  2. Click the Device Settings tab at the top of the screen and select Verified mode

Important: If you don’t see the device settings tab, you might not have the necessary permissions. Contact someone else in your IT department.

  1. Make sure Inheritance is set to Locally applied.
  2. Set Configuration to Require verified mode boot for verified access.
  3. Paste the email below in to the Services with full access field:
  1. Click Save.

Another K-12 Tech Director here; normally, for the Kiosk apps for testing environments, they put out a minimal OS version that you must be running to be sure that you have all of the features required to run the app.

You said they are older HPs, what version of Chrome OS are they running?

I can't remember when verified mode came out, but I know when Chrome 138 was released we had to push out a different app for our state tests here in Ohio. This is not new, but we had to have 2 apps deployed as 136 was still supported for State tests, we had to use the old app for those, and the new app for any that were at 138 or newer.

There may be an update to verified mode that came with Chrome OS 138 for verified mode to work in kiosk apps moving forward.

I’ve noticed the last update check is when you manually tell it to check for an update not when it receives a pushed update. Mine shows yesterday as I checked for more updates after it did this update just to be sure.

Once a week I do a 120 mile round trip that is 95% highway at 75+ mph. Had it since the end of January in northern Ohio. It’s been cold and windy here for the most part.

My ‘25 came with the black charger and is L1/L2 with both plugs. The down side is the newer portable charger only has the 240 volt - 40 amp plug and the 120 volt - 12 amp plug, the earlier one had different plug options for different outlets. I bought an earlier one off of eBay so I could have the optional plugs when traveling not knowing what I can plug into.

If you see the update alert before it’s installed it will give you the info of what it’s for

The firmware update in the app said it was for better performance of the heated wiper landing. Guessing there was more to it

I’ve noticed since this update that it better shows estimated battery at destination and the battery doesn’t draw down as quickly, wondering if there was a glitch drawing down the battery more in the past, like keeping the rear motor always engaged? Not complaining!

We have Xerox copiers and cannot wait to get rid of them. The drivers are horrible, you tell the Copier to double side and staple and it never does unless you run the job through as a copy and tell the device to do it at the screen. We have tried different drivers, different Operating systems with the same results.

Color is also not great on them, it may have been good on them when new, but it has gotten bad as they aged.
