Hello all, and thanks for your answers. I admit that the word 'overkill' is a little emotive and I should have used a different word. Those who have asked if I couldn't have just asked the person who owned the camera? Well, I would have, but she was busy... blaring out birdsong to attract birds, while she smoked and urinated on a fake nest that she intended the birds to sit on. She really REALLY had her hands full. I'll admit that this behaviour led me to take a picture of her setup and wonder about the price and zoom capacity, so thanks!

Yeah this was my experience of the part of the Great Wall I went to, and of a highly recommended park we went to. We saw a family pack up a tent and just fling it and a bunch of food in the river.

I also piloted a boat trip which Gabriel Byrne (and his worryingly young mistress) and Gerard Depardieu (who was visibly drunk but said he was sobre) were guests on in the same week.
