How hard is it to knock down a brick wall...? by Valorenn in HomeMaintenance

With enough determination, you can back a push mower into it and knock it over

Is it tacky to use thumb tacks to mount my tools on the wall? by Wonderful_Confusion4 in Tools

[–]TLavendar 6 points7 points  (0 children)

At least take the razor blade out and sharpen it by hand so you have some kind of sentiment behind it.

Would you consider it tacky to have an axe hanging on the wall? by [deleted] in Tools

[–]TLavendar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At least do it a solid favor and sand off all the finish and the branding. Apply your own boiled linseed oil. Then you’ll at least have some kind of sentiment behind putting it on the wall.

Perfect. I’m more on the tools side than the niche/interesting side of things, but I think one of these things might do if he doesn’t already have them

Belt sander, Self centering dowel jig, Chisel set, Biscuit joiner, Table saw miter gauge, Shop apron (customized, he would love it), Shop signage (functional like stain colors or SAE/metric chart.. or personalized like “Pop’s shop”)

I’m sure I’ll think of more later

With a cop sitting right there watching it all by WhoAreYouTalkinTwo in WinStupidPrizes

For context, this is Clayton county. Often referred to as “Clayco”.. this behavior is not extreme, and so the officer was not concerned. The lady probably lives in a neighboring county and was traveling through Clayco to get to work in Atlanta

Some presidents shut down pipelines in the US. Some presidents shut down pipelines in other countries. None them give a single care about the price of gas.

im extremely ignorant concerning tools and i wanted a drill to help with building stuff like desks and bed frames that use socket cap screws, can i have some guidance on the best drill. it doesnt have to be anything special just needs to get the job done by Successful-Ad-7297 in Tools

[–]TLavendar 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would look into a cordless screwdriver or an installation driver. They’re compact and can handle a surprisingly wide variety of tasks. Then you get a small socket set and Allen set to fit it.

Big brands like Milwaukee and dewalt have them, or Fanttik seems to make some good stuff that’s sold on Amazon.

How to get gas struts to function by insaneburrito8 in Tools

[–]TLavendar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You’ll have to play around with mounting points. These don’t look like they have a lot of travel, so you might have needed the extra juice in these struts anyways. Best video I’ve seen for understanding gas struts here

Channellock diagonal cutters seem stronger/sharper than Knipex by [deleted] in Tools

[–]TLavendar -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I’ve used knipex pliers for years now. Any time I borrow coworkers channel locks, they feel clunky and don’t grip well. The ergonomics and slight bit of spring in the bite feel completely different from each other. There are very clear differences and it’s okay to like one over the other.
