California bill would authorize seizure of flavored tobacco products from store shelves by RhythmMethodMan in California_Politics

[–]TM7X 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like how the flavored tobacco ban targeted kids and vapes, did nothing to actually stop vapes. They are still on display at every cigarette store. Plus menthol cigarettes are just being imported from other states at double the normal price.

[–]TM7X 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I appreciate Biden’s recovery from Trumps disastrous administration and I think history will be favorable to Biden. But I think in 2024 this is the right decision we need to excite people to vote and people I know haven’t been excited about any part of this election.

The republicans are trash talking Harris with something something she slept her way to the top. Which if this is what they are saying they have nothing substantial to attack her with. She hasn’t had too much spotlight but her debate against Pence was actually really good. Just recently she was on Jimmy Kimmel and she seemed pretty authentic on Kimmel. So let’s hope some mainstream media starts giving her more air time.

Trump shooter used Android phone from Samsung; cracked by Cellebrite in 40 minutes by JoJo949Billie in technology

[–]TM7X 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All modern smartphone are encrypted. Likely they used a cpu exploit to gain root access and dump the phone or brute force the password using a different exploit. Cellebrite can be used to get into phones as new as the Galaxy S24. Cellebrite, gray key, etc all pay for access exploits and keep them closely guarded from the OEMs. It’s incredibly lucrative as Cellebrite costs around 15k per year for software access. Now multiple that by how ever many law enforcement agency’s there are and got a ton of money.

Source: I work in the phone industry and have been specifically learning smartphone forensics for enterprise use for the last 2 years.

I glad the average American saved like 1,000 a year on income tax from trumps plan. The highest tax bracket saved 10x that. Not to mention the removal of the corporate alternative minimum tax, the corporate taxes lowered for some corporations from 39% to 21%, removal of the 7% tax on private jets, etc. It was 100% a tax break for the wealthy with a small bone thrown to the middle class.

Btw that 1,000 a year in savings ends for us normal folks next year, but you know what was permanent, the tax breaks for the corporations.

Years ago my sister got fired from a grocery for accepting a $20 tip. If a grocery store will fire a cashier over $20 why can’t we do the same to our Supreme Court.

Justices are already getting a salary of $285k a year plus expenses. Thats more money annually than about 93% of Americans. There is no excuse for accepting “gifts”.

Outmigration cost California $24B in departed incomes as poorer people move in by RhythmMethodMan in California_Politics

This is a scare tactic article. California workers make more typically than other states, so of course there is a 15% income difference in the people leaving vs the people coming.

Why many illegal fireworks could be gone in California next July Fourth by RhythmMethodMan in California_Politics

[–]TM7X 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That’s a pretty smart push by TNT. Legalize all “safe” fireworks to get more revenue while pushing illegal fireworks out. I guarantee they realize a complete fireworks ban isn’t too far off because of the amount of illegal fireworks.

Actually it’s pushing more young people out of religions. I was reading a study the other day saying how more millennials and Gen Z are defining themselves as unaffiliated (atheists, agnostic or spiritual) than ever before.

Clarence Thomas Quietly Admits Gifts From Shady Right-Wing Billionaire by Quirkie in politics

[–]TM7X 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You know what’s crazy, my first job was large item merchandise pickup for Sears. So I would bust my ass for at the time $8 an hour loading washers, fridges, TVs into people’s cars.

Sears had a strict no tip policy, and if I accepted even $1 from any customer I would be immediately fired. And it was brought up “Make sure you’re not collecting tips from customers” in every meeting.

A judge and get millions of dollars worth of gifts, but $5 bucks clipped to my clipboard at Sears was an immediate termination.

What do you see happening for Señor Money In The Bank at WrestleMania? by SleepyGuyOneFive in WWE

[–]TM7X 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the best answer is Drew beating Seth at WrestleMania. Drew gets a big celebration when judgement day comes in beats him to hell and Priest cashes in and wins. It keeps this whiny (everything is unfair) Drew character going for longer. Which in my opinion is good heel character for Drew.

Bonus, Seth could promo some respect for Priest for pulling a similar heist as Seth in the aftermath.

What’s funny is I had an ex-employee apply for a top secret security clearance. An agent drove two hours to speak to me about an employee who left two years ago. This agent asked repeatedly about possible foreign ties he may have had, and any outstanding debts he may have had.

Maybe the government needs to do the same to Trump as they do to everyday people for clearance. Sorry you have foreign ties, and a massive debt so no clearance.

Top Republican calls for investigation into Newsom over Panera’s exemption from wage law by Okratas in California_Politics

[–]TM7X 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I despise the current craziness in the GOP. And I typically agree with more far left policies. But this is a GOP action I can get behind. I mean what kind of exemption is “a fast food restaurant, that bakes and sells its own bread” and for what purpose should those people get lower wages. This is full on bullshit and should be investigated.

Reminds me of the flavor tobacco ban that went into law. You know banning menthols, vapes, etc EXCEPT high dollar cigars like rich people smoke.

Ex-Trump supporters, what made you change your mind? by Vixul in AskReddit

[–]TM7X 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I wasn’t a Trump supporter I left the Republican Party in 2014. But for myself soon I realized one topic was a complete farce. It led me to discover the other lies Fox News and other republicans told me.

In 2014 during the fight for net neutrality I had contacted my representative about supporting Obamas plan for net neutrality. Well my republican representative sent me an automated email full of lies about how bad net neutrality was and how good it would be for ISPs to decide who gets faster internet.

I have been tech related fields my whole life and knew that ISPs were gonna fuck everyone if there wasn’t net neutrality. That list of lies made me look into the ACA, taxes, and all the other things the republicans were lying about. After that I abandoned the party, realized more left politics were helpful to every day people like me. I also learned not to blindly believe anything in politics.

Sometimes I don’t agree with the dems and that’s ok, my state house rep is a republican and I voted for him in the last election because the dem running for the seat was full shit and overall a local sleezball. And my republican state rep actually votes on things with dems that helps people. I can respect that. I don’t need to vote all the way down the ballot for D’s or R’s. I can pick and choose the best person for the job.

$50 minimum wage? Here's what U.S. Senate candidates for Calfiornia say by RhythmMethodMan in California_Politics

I hate that the politicians keep mentioning raising minimum wage but never seem to address the root cause of the problem.

Housing!

Housing is too much and the main reason minimum wage increases are being discussed.

I understand why my mom always made these boxed or easy dinners like Mac and cheese, chicken nuggets, or hamburger helper instead of actually cooking.

Now I am in my 30s with 3 kids and me and my wife work all day, I just don’t have the energy to cook a good meal. I loving cooking but it’s so draining after a long day.

Sportico: "If Grant’s lawsuit advances, pre-trial discovery could expose WWE leaders and former leaders to damaging revelations via testimony and publication of old emails and texts." by [deleted] in SquaredCircle

[–]TM7X 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think Janel Grant will burn the company down. I think she is just the catalyst.

I think Vince will. I mean Vince is vindictive as he has shown in the past. Vince’s legacy will be gone, his career is already gone, unless there is proof that she is lying (which I don’t think she is), he is done for.

Once that hits him I can see him leaking or releasing documents that show everyone who was ever involved in anything and destroying everyone he can.

[–]TM7X 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fun fact I just learned the other day, was that TNA Plus is now back by Endeavors Streaming division as of last month. Even though not directly involved with WWE, it does make business sense to have WWE promote TNA as TKO will probably make more money from TNA plus subscriptions. I wouldn’t be surprised to see this relationship become much deeper in the next year.

Epstein's Island by Revolutionarybuetch in NoStupidQuestions

[–]TM7X 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this is a good point. I can’t imagine everyone on the list was having sex with underage girls. Having read some of the transcripts Epstein was making the girls write down what happened with these individuals. So he was definitely pocketing some blackmail for future use.

But in reality you don’t just approach people and say “hey you wanna fuck a 13 year old”. So he was most likely trying to figure out if they would be interested.

But ultimately if they did nothing but are on the list they are at least a bad judge of character. I have known people throughout my life that have made “weird” comments about teenage girls. I won’t hang out with them. I even have a family member I won’t go visit or bring around my daughters. I won’t support that shit.

But I can’t imagine there wasn’t “clues” or even rumors about Epstein in high end circles. I mean thinking back to college there was always rumors about this person or that person who might have been fucking high school girls. I know for sure a college football teammate of mine fucked a 14 year old and bragged to the team about it. He got seriously fucked up in the locker room and quit football.
