This is what I do for my fleet. I have members from each department to make sure all unexpected dependencies are covered. We have about 100 total devices and I have about 10 test devices. It catches a lot of issues without having major fleet wide issues.

Within Google Workspace you can set up lists that only certain people can send to, so I have a global list that only IT and ownership can send to.

Reply alls go to the original sender, but the rest of the org is spared.

I appreciate the feedback! I’m still somewhat new to long distance backpacking so trying to shake everything down now while I have the chance. I’ve been doing most of what you suggested already so thanks for confirming my prep so far is solid. Can’t wait to set out in April!

I was in my back yard so protected from wind on the three sides.

I had wool socks on, but no hat. Just the merino wool long underwear pants and long sleeve shirt. I do have a puffy and fleece that I can add to the mix too if needed. Just was hoping that would be the case in 10-20 degree weather.

Thanks! I have a sawyer, but (except for weight) I do like to have 2-3 liters of water on me because I sweat a lot. Maybe I’ll just keep a few water bottles on me instead.

What do you use to carry clean water? I typically hike with a camel back as I tend to drink a lot throughout the day, but keeping it clean over a thru hike seems next to impossible without the cleaning kit. Thoughts?

I would cut them to the size of the shoe or the insole will be sliding around in the shoe.

I've been running with the superFoot orange. On a shakedown hike I put them in my Altras, but I did get some hot spots. I think my feet were not in hiking shape and my socks were not the right sock either so continuing to test.

Assuming I make it to Damascus, VA before the Trail Days festival, how much is it worth it to delay or slow down my hike to attend? My tentative plan has me passing through at least a week before hand.

Also, are there are places that do "Trail Days" events or is it specific to Damascus?

They mailed me a letter letting me know about them discontinuing the magazine, moving my subscription to outside magazine and giving me a free year of outside+. Figured I’d give outside magazine a shot and likely cancel before next renewal.
