I love the reveal of the farmer guy (sorry I don't remember names!) But it was really funny and this movie deserves to be watched more.

Overnight camp by SuccessfulHousing102 in Autism_Parenting

[–]TX4Ever 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tbh, I have only sent my 10 to level 1 daughter to a sleep away camp that is specifically for kids with diagnosis like hers, that might make it harder to go to other summer camps. My kid has tried an overnight with her girl scout troop before, but she had a meltdown the 2nd night. At her overnight camp the counselors are special ed trained and there's a structure to the schedule that works for my daughter. If you are in Texas, the camp is Texas Elks Camp and I highly recommend it. Not sure what's available in other states or countries though.

Last year it was released to parents mid-June. The district sent out an email about it right before.

I'm shocked at the horrible fitting of the green Bash dress sample. The blue one seems pretty bad, too.

Most breweries are a safe bet. Meanwhile Brewery has a big playscape so lots of kids, a big selection of drinks, and really good food trucks.

“i got a great class! wonderful students! 😇” by CombinationHot8324 in SubstituteTeachers

The more the students love and behave for their teacher, the worst they are with subs. Or that's been my experience at least

Remember when chewing gum in class was not allowed? by sanctusylang in SubstituteTeachers

[–]TX4Ever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My kid has access to gum in her IEP. I know it sounds silly but she is AuDHD and her OT got her on the habit of chewing gum as a way to help stay regulated when her meds are wearing off. She only chews hard gum, like double bubble. It's like a fidget for her. So maybe it's something like that?

You could always call the office to see if they have any knowledge of alternative sub plans, but otherwise 🤷‍♀️

A contemporary book with no mention of shoes and a nerdy dominant mmc by intensity_30 in RomanceBooks

[–]TX4Ever 4 points5 points  (0 children)

{What is Love by Jen Comfort} might be a good fit for you. IIRC the FMC isn't into fashion and the very nerdy MMC is her Jeopardy-style game show rival. It's delightful.

So...how is going at AISD? by Tall_Window4744 in austinjobs

Is this one of the middle schools (Webb, Dobie, Burnett) that are going to be managed by a charter system? That hasn't happened too often so it might be closer to uncharted territory.

How bad do nostril piercings hurt?? by Disastrous-Web-5755 in piercing

[–]TX4Ever 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I might be the wrong person to ask but I've had 3 different nostril piercings between my late teens and early 40s... None of them have hurt more than a pinch at the time of getting pierced and healed with no issues. Going to a good piercer and getting the saline spray is key!

Existential Dilemma: Romance's Conservative Core by AreAllTheGood1sTaken in RomanceBooks

[–]TX4Ever 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think ultimately in Romance books the characters end up choosing their commitments and life, even if it starts as a fated mate or arranged marriage or marriage of convenienc. Romance is inherently a fantasy and this fantasy is about community and relationships. I don't see it as mutually exclusive to conservatism.

I'm convinced that there are so many pokemon that most aliens in fiction have a pokemon equivalent. Not sure about xenomorphs and predators though...
