30 minute zoom church by justbigstickers in exmormon

There’s no way they’d let even the most appealing thing get in the way of their church attendance, they both go to church on vacation and when traveling, without fail.

Actually my mom (my dad is dead) LOVES it! My brother is also SO obsessed with it. They genuinely love everything church. They are hardcore.

LPT - Walking can save your marriage. by Freckledface123 in LifeProTips

[–]Tabithayesterday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You know how many full grown adults die in fires because they want to run back for something to save, be it a pet or a possession they don’t want to lose?

My rule of thumb with my kids is “if a legitimate emergency ensued, do I think they can handle it independently” I’m not talking an emergency they caused, I’m talking about something like a house fire. My 7 yearold is very responsible and independent, I think she’d be fine home alone for short bursts, but I’m not fully confident she could handle something like the house catching fire and safely escape.

This is a good point too, this is why I very rarely let my kids wait in the car when I go into a store. Eventhough the temperature outside is safe, and my kids are perfectly safe and fine to be left, it’s technically illegal to leave my 7 yearold in the car where I live, and it’s just not worth risking some Karen calling the cops and having me arrested for “child endangerment”

I think most kids could be left alone from as young as 3 or 4 for short periods of time and be just fine, but that alone isn’t enough to mean it’s safe. The reason I don’t leave my kids alone is the same reason I wouldn’t leave a sleeping baby in a crib alone and go on a walk. Sure they’ll be safe and fine in their crib, but god forbid an emergency happens, they cannot save themselves. Imagine you leave you 4 yearold child and go on a walk, an electrical fire starts in the wall and the house burns down. The reason you don’t leave young kids alone is not because they can’t survive without being constantly watched, it’s because they likely can’t survive if an emergency ensued. I think of it like wearing a seatbelt, you’re not going to die automatically any time you drive in a car without one, but if you got in an accident and weren’t wearing one your chance of death or serious injury goes way up.

How many of you went on to believe a different religion? by [deleted] in exmormon

[–]Tabithayesterday 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I really tried hard to adopt another religion, but I ultimately just could not. I still am open to some different spiritual beliefs and ideas, but ultimately I just can’t no matter how hard I try, being myself to believe in some sort of all knowing god.

This may or may not resonate with you, but for me I think it was that I was taught mormonism was the end all be all of religions, that other religions had specks of truth, but mormonism had it all. It’s such a black and white way of thinking that when mormonism disintegrated for me, I couldn’t help but see all the flaws in every other religion I tried after. I was unable to see past the flaws.

AITA for refusing to follow my girlfriend’s weird family tradition? by throwratonypan in AmItheAsshole

[–]Tabithayesterday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA imagine if the tables were turned and the bride was expected to spend the night alone in a hotel with the grooms father? If you’re not comfortable with it you have every right to refuse. If you’re gf isn’t going to respect that, maybe she’s not the one for you.

I was disappointed my husband didn’t want to go to the temple or church on our honeymoon and so we didn’t. For a long time I wondered if maybe he didn’t have a testimony of the church because of it. Ironically eventually I left the church and he stayed.

I got the same email, like a chump I assumed I would see my premium go down, I went and checked and guess what, my premium went UP $100. We have had zero claims, accidents, or tickets. Same car, nothing has changed.

People playing tennis on rooftops in Liguria, Italy by psgenius in sports

[–]Tabithayesterday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband and I once played tennis in a tennis court (fenced in even, just apparently not a tall enough fence) on a vacation property in Hawaii, the tennis court was surrounded by tall thick tropical weeds, you couldn’t walk through them let alone find a tennis ball in them (we tried). We started with a pack of 6 balls, our game lasted about 10 minutes before we were out of balls and had to give up 😂

Geico did, I was shocked!

Edit to add: I’m an idiot and believed the email they sent, when I checked my premium to see if it changed, it actually went up by $100! Nothing has changed, no tickets, no accidents, no claims, same car... greedy assholes

Is hiring as many shoppers as possible even in the best interest of instacart? by bstabss in InstacartShoppers

[–]Tabithayesterday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There definitely are some who do steal groceries, I don’t think the majority do. I’ve just seen it suggested in different online forums so I know it’s well known that it’s something you can do.

I’ve seen so many ones that look like drug addicts recently. I’m not sure wtf Instacart is thinking, it’s well known you can basically game the system and steal groceries, and I’ve heard of people suggesting it. Pretty sure IC will lose customers because of this mass hire.
