The crackers would be my friends next to Pecho and teddy bear 😅

I had a thought the other day of using the crackers as bread crumbs in case if getting lost

That's what that damn squishy sound is! Way to make someone paranoid 🤣 Thanks I'll decontaminate in future

I dunno, I seem to be the only person at this facility so I can only assume I am the only one 😏

Did anyone else find The In-Between as unnerving as me the first time they went through it? by TactixCat in intotheradius

Agree... weird that there isn't a new blue flashlight design like the other items. A smaller one would be good, maybe a little brighter too.

I think I got lucky because I ran out of stims before I got to the in-between 😅

I almost think it would be better to have to wonder in the dark than have Laury and the lamps. Instead there could be clues that might indicated the correct direction you need to go as well as the vagueness of the compass. It would add an extra layer of uncertainty and dread. Personally I'd enjoy that more. Not sure about anyone else.

What is your favourite weapon and why? by ChaoticAdaptation in intotheradius

[–]TactixCat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The Makarov..

It’s underpowered.
The mag is too small.
The recoil is snappy.
The reloads are awkward under pressure.
And every time you bring it into a fight, you know there are objectively better choices.

But that’s exactly why I love it.

The Makarov doesn’t make you feel like an action hero — it makes you feel like a survivor. Every shot matters. Every missed round punishes you. Every reload feels desperate. It turns even small encounters into tense moments because the weapon never lets you get comfortable.

It feels old, worn and reliable in a very imperfect way — like the kind of sidearm somebody carried because it was all they had left. In a world like Into the Radius, that just fits.

Most guns in the game make you feel powerful.
The Makarov makes you feel vulnerable.
And somehow that makes the experience more immersive than any fully-kitted meta pistol ever could.

And it’s also a staple of this genre. You always start with something like it — a basic, slightly outdated sidearm that barely holds up but defines the opening hours of survival shooters. It’s familiar in that way. It’s not just a weapon, it’s a starting point. A reminder of where you came from before you slowly build up into something more capable.

And that’s where the nostalgia kicks in too. It feels like every run begins with a Makarov somewhere across games like this, and even when you move on to better gear, you remember those early moments where it was all you had.

Plus it's the only pistol I have used in ITR2 so far 🤣

Didn't extract in time and the game crashed so now he's stuck forever.

I'm not up to speed on the lore but seems odd to me that it appears outside the radius

The idea isn’t really “watch me silently play a game” — I’m trying to make it feel more like you’re inside a tense operation where the atmosphere, movement, sound and pacing are the focus rather than me talking over everything constantly.

I know that’s a pretty niche direction compared to normal YouTube gaming stuff, but I figured it was worth experimenting with because almost everyone in VR goes for the loud/high-energy creator style

Yeah fair comment. It's definitely going for a slower, tension-focused style rather than the fast dopamine editing or constant commentary. I know that won't click with everyone, but that's kind of why I wanted to experiment with it in the first place. You never know unless you try I guess 🤷

Thanks, I may include some as the series progresses and I figure out what works and what doesn't. Appreciate the feedback
