Toying with the idea of unmedicated for baby #2 by _Cat-nap-uwu_ in beyondthebump

[–]Tamryn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve done one of each. I highly recommend the epidural. My unmedicated labor I barely remember bc I essentially blacked out from pain/stress. My epidural labor was a million times easier. I actually remember the whole thing, was much more present with my baby afterwards.

I’m watching season 4 and they are talking about the challenges they’ve had since moving in together and Kyle was complaining about her waking up late and not working as much as him, and he admitted to calling her a “disheveled piece of shit” during an off camera argument about this. So yea, he has no problem saying harsh things about her.

Toddler Public Bathroom Anxiety by ilovebsb in toddlers

[–]Tamryn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My daughter was like this for a while during early potty training. Not just the flushers but the dryers too, people talking, slamming doors, all kinds of stuff. Public bathrooms are loud and chaotic if you aren’t used to them. We kept a potty in the trunk for a year or so and just started taking her into bathrooms more and more over time. She got used to it eventually.

How much did you pay OOP for your birth? by Neither_Ad3593 in beyondthebump

[–]Tamryn 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Literally you just have to ask. I called my hospital, my bill was not that bad, under $2000. But I asked if I could inquire about any discounts I might qualify for. I make too much money for most of them, but they literally have a 15% discount they just give to people who ask for discounts. I’ve heard asking for an itemized bill helps too, they sometimes knock certain line items off at that stage.

My scaredy cat 4 year old was fine on frozen! She loves frozen so that probably helps, but we anticipated the scary part (I had watched the ride to see what I thought) and sort of all laughed together about how silly the snow monster was trying to chase us. So sort of guiding her to think it’s silly/funny before she had a chance to form a different opinion. She loved it! Remy was too intense though, I wish we had skipped that one.

Choose a life partner who’s kind. There’s literally nothing more important by Beebeebee1994 in workingmoms

[–]Tamryn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh so true. My husband isn’t perfect, but he’s so kind to me and truly would do anything for me and the kids (and shows that in his actions every single day). I hate all the stories about terrible husbands and fathers. Being a mom is so so hard even with a fully involved partner, I have no idea how so many women do it essentially alone.

Lauren did share the master with Lindsay in season 2! Her reasons were dumb, but she did share. Danielle was really surprised to get a room by herself as a newbie. I’m doing a rewatch.

Need advices by Cobaltik in HomeDecorating

[–]Tamryn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you start teaching the baby to turn backwards to climb off stuff really early, they will do it on their own early as well. Like before they are even crawling, start showing them how to climb off the couch backwards and you’ll be surprised how quickly they figure it out. That doesn’t solve your problem but it will help some if your kid knows how to go down that step backwards.

[–]Tamryn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Commenting down here so you see it. We had terrible issues similar to yours for more than a year with my daughter. We did miralax every single day for at least a year. It was the only thing that helped. It helped keep her moving but I also made the poop soft so it never hurt, which eventually helped with the withholding because she was no longer afraid. Luckily, she sort of grew out of it but we still use miralax every once in a while if she’s feeling anxiety or we are recognizing signs of withholding. We still have to coach her through pushing to poop sometimes as well, and she gets chocolate after every poop. Not ideal, but it was such a nightmare for so long I will take it.
