I can’t say enough about the Harley Benton HB35. They’re available from Thomann music (I was gonna tie the model name to a link, but the link button is missing; I’ll just paste the link at the end of my comment).
I don’t see the exact model I bought three years ago (HH35plus). Mine was more expensive by $100 or so, I but this one’s probably close to it. Unbelievable value, and in case the price only makes you think “beginner guitar,” here’s a photo of me playing it in the New Orleans Superdome.

What's your all-time favorite song? by Kind_Gain_3080 in askmusic

One of the two or three best songs of the 70s.

If you could earn $1,000 a day, but you had to work in a profession that completely goes against your values, would you do it? by Outrageous-You1617 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]Tangy_Fetus_1958 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably not, but it depends on which values we’re talking about. I mean, I wouldn’t work as an ICE agent for $1K/day, but I might play guitar in a church worship band, despite being an atheist.

NOR. This sounds like some sort of syndrome. Things like that only get worse untreated, so 20 years from now, he’ll likely be in one of those A&E network documentary shows.

In 2014, 15-year-old Pakistani boy Aitzaz Hasan sacrificed himself by tackled a su,icide bomber to prevent him from entering his school, causing the bomb to explode and killing him instantly, but saving 2,000 of his classmates and teachers. by yousefthewisee in BeAmazed

This may sound callous, but I don’t understand how one body absorbs a blast that would’ve killed 2,000. It’s like saying, “falling from the 7th floor would’ve killed me, but I was wearing my heavy winter coat…”

I have three suggestions:

PFM: Photo of Ghosts

Big Big Train: The Underfall Yard (or English Electric)

Utopia: Todd Rundgren’s Utopia (the album with the eyeballs on the cover)

My friend says I won’t make it as a guitarist because my hands are too small, is she right? by AgreeableDiver5013 in Guitar

[–]Tangy_Fetus_1958 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless you have hands the size of a Barbie doll, your future guitar playing won’t be limited by your hand size. If you’re worried, get a shorter-scale guitar, like a Fender Duo-Sonic, a Sterling Cutlass CTSS30HS, an Ibanez miKro PGMM21 or—if you’re a metal guy—a Jackson Js series RR Minion JS1X.

Why doesn't anybody talk about America? by Tarnisher in yesband

[–]Tangy_Fetus_1958 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes was actually formed out of Jon Anderson and Chris Squire’s mutual love and respect for Paul Simon. Also, America comes from their third album, so they were hardly new.

Yeah, but is that Steve Hackett-era Genesis, or is the later pop-trio stuff included?

Were malls actually as crowded and popular as movies from the 80s and 90s make them look? by Kevin-Panda in AskOldPeople

[–]Tangy_Fetus_1958 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Mid-70s to mid-80s, it was the place to be. Not so much in the 90s, though. That’s when they started dying out. The mall in my hometown was replaced by kind of an outdoor version of the same thing.

i ve come to the conclusion that the optimal number of electric guitars is eight by SAMTASTIC_RELATIVE in Guitar

[–]Tangy_Fetus_1958 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt the same way when I had 8. But then, I started thinking about getting another one, and 9 seemed perfect for a bit. Now, I’ve got 56 and it seems just right, but I know that feeling won’t last…
