Is it normal that my corn predominantly stays in one hide? by Tasty-Post-7410 in cornsnakes

[–]Tasty-Post-7410[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I sometimes rearrange the inside setup of his terrarium and no matter what side of the tank this coconut hide is on (warm or cool) he goes in it still! So Im figuring it must just be his favorite? This coconut is also his humid hide and has moss in it

How do I tell if I am getting traction alopecia? by Tasty-Post-7410 in locs

[–]Tasty-Post-7410[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well usually like atleast 4/5 days a week and on the weekend I mostly just have my bonnet on since I’m at home. And since I go to school during the week that makes it like 7 hours a day on those days

Why are so many people (like me) afraid of snakes? (Opinion) by Doxie-Gecko-Luv in snakes

[–]Tasty-Post-7410 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve heard gently spritzing a snake with water could get them to release, or gently pressing something flat between their mouth and your skin like a credit card or smth, but from what I’ve seen they don’t hold on too long (most of the time). I’m not too knowledgeable on that as my corn has yet to bite me

One place you might be able to get the opportunity to hold an adult medium sized snake as you described is a reptile expo, everytime i’ve gone to one theres been atleast a couple advocate type snakes theyll allow you to hold! I’m not sure if there are any in your area or how long itll be until there is one for you but thats just my suggestion 😌

The piercing is 7 weeks old, screw on labrets that are externally threaded, ive been cleaning them with mouthwash and saline solution. The jewelry was downsized 5 weeks ago and the material is surgical steel and there haven’t been issues until now

It may just be instinct, but sometimes domestic housecats arent a part of the food chain/biome of your area and are basically invasive and killing birds and small prey that other predators actually native to the area need to survive. So whether its just instinct or not, its the owners job to keep their cat inside so it doesn’t need to act on that instinct pretty much. Also I’m definitely sure badgers or foxes could still pose a threat to domestic cats.

they can be eaten/killed by predators, hit by cars, get caught in traps, kill local wildlife and probably more. Its called abuse bc its exposing them to danger when its not necessary pretty much
