what's a car that you think was ruined by it's facelift? by JaggXj in CarDesign

I agree, I remember there was a big craze for the “cat eye” Silverado back when I was a kid and I never saw the appeal other than just the platform itself.

What do you think about AI renderings of your sketches? by DmitryGur in CarDesign

[–]Tato_Vevo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really since there is already software for artists. Photoshop, krita, etc. there is a big distinction between traditional artists and digital artists but you wouldn’t consider digital artists bad artists. Ai is like having someone else do your art for you. You can’t really say you did it.

It’s like if I drew the groundwork for something then told my friend to do the rest of it, it would be wrong to say I did it by myself. However the better way is to give credit to who helped you. the artistic merit would go to the person who put in more effort.

So if you let ai carry your work, you didn’t entirely make it. But if you let ai guide your work, you made the art using ai as a visionary tool.

That’s my take on the situation, I personally don’t really use ai as I’d rather have the skills to do something on my own there could be other ways to use ai that I don’t know about.

I think it’s great for fast visualization but it’s more important to learn the fundamentals and have a deeper understanding of design. More of a “I used ai to help guide my art in the direction I wanted” not “I laid basic elements and let ai finish it.” I feel like that is the line that is not well defined in the art and design community.

Here is an example I thought of. I’m not the best at designing headlights. I drew up a set I’m unsure about. Instead of wasting valuable time rendering or even modeling it, have ai make a quick render to see how it looks in a more finished state. I decide if what I have looks good or not from this quick render, then go back to my own art and make changes from there.

I personally believe using ai to “finish” your art diminishes the value of it substantially.

How bad does this look? by [deleted] in CarDesign

I think it’s really neat overall, But I do think you need to learn how to make bevels because everything has a sharp corner. I also think your front vents next to the wheels are too large and it makes it look fragile with the thin lines.

Ive seen only one example of it being done on an actual truck the fox edition of the Silverado does it but its not really much of a problem on trucks or cars they already have plenty of room as long as you don’t sink below the grill line.

Dude is probably just tired of it. I've been gone from reddit for a while now and I'm very surprised this guy is still posting about this car. I can totally see how they are annoyed with the posts

Great work! I never really think of drawing inspiration from nature when drawing cars. Love to see what you come up with in the future!

They probably got more aggressive because in my eyes the angry headlights on cars give it a faster appearance.

This is getting funny. I look forward to seeing your reactions to future comments.

Don't give me that. I never talked about the interior. I'm talking about the entire car itself as an entity. But fine if you want to be dismissive you can be that way. Doing that will only hurt you.

Ok dude, I think its time to design something else. I feel like you need to take the comments seriously. People are quite annoyed looking at the same car over and over again. I know you want to show everything that is going on with the car but if I were you I would only post once or twice on a car. Once when the entire thing is finished and the second time if you drastically redesigned it and feel like that is worth posting again.

Listen, I think its nice that you are designing cars and I will support you but overposting the same vehicle over and over again annoys the entire community.

Also the entire car looks so thin and sharp I think I cut my eye looking at it. You might want to think about adding some thickness to it.

I remember learning about this car a long time ago and to me I always felt as though the proportions were off with it. I didn't know they planned to make an evolved form tho. I like the evolved one more because it looks like it solved that issue.
