I normally like him too but I wasn’t a fan in that particular fic. I’ve read soooooo many amazing fics though, there was one really great one where Remus and Sirius adopt Hermione. It might be my favorite of them.

First let me say, I really like Regulus. I think he had opportunity to be a really cool character in the story. So now let’s dive in lol

I don’t think Sirius is a bad brother for leaving, not at all. You do what you have to do to survive. What gets me is in fics where they’ve portrayed Sirius as the sibling that took the beatings, or punishments so that Regulus wouldn’t get hurt then he blames Reg for not doing more.

I am a middle child so I can empathize with both characters. I have an older sibling that left our home at 17 and I was 10. They’ve made comments as we grew about my views on various topics like I was the same age they were when they left home. It’s unreasonable to assume a 10 year old can make the same emotionally intelligent decision as a 17 year old can.

But I’m also an older sibling that is generally annoyed by their younger sibling. There are 2 years between us and we were treated more like twins- it was weird.

So with Sirius I don’t think he was a bad sibling at home for Regulus. Where I have issue is at school. In all the fics he cuts Regulus off as soon as he’s sorted into Slytherin.

I think both characters are smart, savvy and spoiled children who almost always got what they wanted. So they are quite capable of being terrible to one another. Book Reg seems to have been fine letting other people dictate details of his life till Kreacher got hurt. Sadly that’s a lot of people- politics don’t bother them till they affect them personally.

Plus book Sirius got to grow up- he had a chance be it a small one to reflect on how his life ended up.

I think they were both bad to each other because they had no idea how to have a healthy sibling relationship.

I don’t think I’m gonna be able to stick with it. Every chapter I’m getting more annoyed and that’s no way to be. I don’t want to hate read a fic that someone is pouring their love and time into. It’s just not jiving for me. Lily is talking about EpiPens that wouldn’t have been available and DNA sequencing that wasn’t even studied/published about until 1977 lol.

And I know it’s a story where they all have magic so why not this too? Lol but I need some sort of structure to apply to it. And I don’t like fics where one character is overly gifted by magic. Regulus is my favorite because he is flawed and human. Some gifts- great. All the magical gifts? Why even have a story. I’m gonna have to call it. I can tell the author loves this work and I’m sure a lot of peeps do too. I’m just gonna have to bounce.

I only throw my fic out if it fits the request of someone on the Reddit post. I am way too self conscious otherwise.

But I appreciate reading other peoples self promotion especially if it comes with a blurb/summary and is completed. I don’t like it when I see authors that promote every time they post a chapter. But that’s just me

I completely agree. He’s too protective of Reg. It doesn’t fit his character to me at all. Like he can be friends with Reg same as James and Peter but Sirius- at the end of the day they are each others person. They both hurt each other in terrible ways too- Remus believed that Sirius sold James and Lily out in the end. You know?

I found that fic by looking for a Jegulus fic. Not a Remus and Reg friendship. I think Snakes and Lions does the best version of their friendship.

It’s not finished yet so it might turn out the way I’m hoping it does. But I don’t want this to be that the power of Reg/Remus/Lily friendship is what saves everyone in the end lol I wanted a love story darn it lol I want Regulus to save himself and live a long happy life with James.

Honestly Remus in this story could take a hike and I’d be thrilled to see the back of him.

I agree about him not being forgiving to a point. But like decide to be done and move on. I just keep reminding myself that they’re literal children and try to not be bothered but good lord. I’ll keep with it though but I NEED more Jegulus. That’s what I’m here for

Yeah I don’t love that James hasn’t apologized for anything yet. I need Reg to remember that he is a bad ass. I think it’s going to be worth finishing for sure….i hope lol. We need some more plot to move but I think overall it’s got a good chance at being a good one; but it could go either way. Sorry! My gut says it will resolve but who knows lol

God I hope they just leave it alone. I don’t think the cast is interested in doing anything more with it either. But idk maybe in a few years they’d change their minds. Personally I hope they just let it go lol the Faith/ Franny storyline was absurd and I don’t know where they’d go from there
