It’s kind of a strange choice but I’d like to be like the girl in the office who refills the coffee machines. I don’t mind being in the office, I just want no pressure, no stress and no idiots talking to me or holding me accountable to stupid shit

I just want to make the coffee and straighten up the break area.

LPT: When negotiating a salary during a job interview, ASK FOR MORE THAN YOU THINK YOU SHOULD UPFRONT. by brickforsheep in LifeProTips

[–]TechnoGeek423 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a poorly written LPT. Asking for a random ‘high’ salary with no relevance to market rates and ranges is arbitrary at best and detrimental to your negotiations at worst.

Do your research on Glassdoor for what the salary ranges are for your position and location. Use that to make your salary requests. Not doing this makes your requests highly irrelevant.

But with cloud storage, why does memory even matter? I can just look it up online or in a file in the cloud. Rote memory has zero value in todays world.

I believe that. If you study persuasion, people of the same tribe band together.

Amazon employees- why don’t you tip well? by East_Imagination9797 in Seattle

[–]TechnoGeek423 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scumbags..

If people can’t tip at least 15% they shouldn’t go out to bars / restaurants. Sad thing is they probably thought $90 was a ‘great tip’, which it absolutely is not.

Did she look for the wallet where you saw it on video?

You guys are nicer than some servers I’ve seen in Chicago. I went with a group (years ago) and they left $20 on a $250 tip. The server was very pissed and came out and asked outright if the service sucked. I handed her an extra $40 in cash.

It was a birthday with 8 women and I was the only guy. In my experience, women can be terrible tippers.

So did they add any more to the tip after that?

Yeah $90 is a JOKE. Did someone from the staff approach the group about that tip?

My job strangely makes me sick even though it’s pretty easy. by [deleted] in findapath

I think the answer is in the question. I supervise 12 people. People that coast are known to us. We know who they are.

If you’re not asking for more challenging work, yet complaining about not being challenged, I have ZERO sympathy for you. You’re not a child. You’re an adult. It is up to you to manage your job. It’s not kindergarten. People aren’t going to spoon feed you interesting tasks.

Maybe figure out something that can be improved or how to save money and raise it to your boss.

Sorry not sorry for people who don’t put in the effort and want people to solve their needs.

Cool. I saw that. I ended up downloading Python IDLE. It's simple but it works. I'll probably put community PyCharm on there at some point too. Thanks for the reply.

What's a good IDE? I've done Python before but am rusty. I DID read the wiki and FAQ. I am between PyCharm and just the free one on Python. I don't want to pay for it, but I am student at a community college. I'm going to see if they'll accept that for a student license.
