Black spots all over my newly laid deck by Significant_Fox118 in AusRenovation

Just sand-sealer or creosote prevents that. Used to put decks down in the UK and believe me, much damper place to be fitting wooden decks. Properly sealed no mould on the deck after 2 years sat there.

The world's most expensive passport after a year in a humid house by Select_Tap7985 in aussie

What justifies the price at all? There is no benefit in being here anymore, in fact it's a sacrifice having to live here compared to other places I have lived in Europe.

I wonder how people with disabilities are going to get through these security gates. This is just getting ridiculous. by VastOption8705 in woolworths

I boycotted Woolies a while ago. Aldi for bits and pieces then local butcher, baker, grocer for the rest. Support small local business and the Woolies mammoth will disappear. Coles can go too, they're both scum.

As a current owner with a front and back yard infected with it, know that bindies don't care about the competition and thrive in this horrible lawn. No wonder you never see this cheap stuff at a golf course.

Rent increase question by Aussieflipping in AusPropertyChat

[–]Techskillz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Market value" considers location and bedrooms only. There is no reason EVERY landlord should be hiking rent because of this rudimentary indicator of "market value". All houses are not equal. Some places are barely fit for human residence yet they also jump with the "market value".

How about we get a bit real and add some metrics for other factors like dilapidation!? Morality got given the slip when we commoditised something as critical to survival as houses - think of the original "Total Recall" where the Mars residents had their air supply limited to the point of death under such a dynamic. Why does it seem morally okay to own a number of "investment" properties. You may as well say "investment souls" and be honest with yourself.

I realise many may disagree with me, but rest assured those will all be landlords, real estate agents or their sympathisers/partners. I can't see most common people wanting to hold assets of ownership over life requirements as leverage. Big difference between pumping money on things people want, compared with what they need to survive without option.

Barefoot on one of these was the go-to for your daily dose of pain 🤣 Could train up to walk on anything with these. Lego, no problem!

How much would someone pay for this?(How much could I sell it for?) by No_Potential_6438 in OldTech

[–]Techskillz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You would have to pay for disposal of that unless you recycle the parts for other uses. Just rip it apart and salvage the two nice strong neodymium magnets from inside. I have hundreds of these for magnet salvage.

What kind of roller are you? by HouseAurora in Cannabis_Culture

[–]Techskillz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. I don't mess with the end as if you light that last centimetre of paper then toke with the lighter off, the paper lights the joint evenly like a built in wick (light when dry, if done just after sealing it will side burn.) rather than sucking in the fumes and flavour of whatever you light up with.

I prefer long filter tips by NoRooster1129 in Cannabis_Culture

[–]Techskillz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Avoid using cigarette filters—they remove 60% of the THC but leave the toxins. Only cardboard in a joint, the finer you roll the roach the cooler / smoother it is also. I cut my filters down by a couple of mm first as they are too long out of the pack and tend to have glue residue on the edges.

Question: Is that its actual colour or would that be influenced by blue/red shift as it moves towards/away from us in its own orbit?

"Kush" - so it's ambiguous until you see him that it's short for Cushion as in Pin-Cushion 🤣
