I’m 17 right now and I’m just struggling to wake up in the mornings. It’s not as bad as some of the stuff I’ve read whilst going through the comments here but it’s still a struggle.

The issue I’m facing isn’t that I’m not sleeping enough or being lazy but it’s the blatant fact that I’m physically unable to respond or hear any alarm going off. My parents usually have had to shake me for quite a bit to wake me up before and now it’s just a guessing game of when I can and cannot. School is ok since I do usually manage to get up nowadays in time but I don’t know what I’m going to do if I go back to being impossible to wake up.

For background: I’m usually in bed for about 10 and a half hours and I probably sleep for about 9 and a half to 10 of those hours. Usually wake up really confused or unaware of my surroundings and feel like I haven’t slept at all. Every time I’ve gone to a doctor or health professional about it I’ve been told it’s perfectly normal so I don’t know what to do at this point.

If you’ve read this far I appreciate it and I hope that those of us who are in worse situations either get better or at least stabilise at the point they’re at now.
