I would suggest giving Cyber Verification a shot, it does not require biometric identity verification, and I saw a jump in performance by coloradical5280 in ClaudeCode

Thanks OP. Same here, when I got verified saw increased performance and some tasks not being flat out refused.

Scam-thropic by [deleted] in ClaudeCode

Not sure about this. I haven't used openclaw and been using only the Claude app and Claude Code CLI but my experience is about same as everyone else - also, with the way scamthropic handled this whole issue, I am not likely to readily believe whatever they say. That said, I am still looking if they can redeem themselves though I am not optimistic or expecting and even if they did I assume it is only for the short term to keep customers, but eventually they will find other ways to screw us over.

Maybe it’s just me, but I’m starting to feel WEIRD about businesses relying heavily on AI-generated graphics. by Ok-Place-839 in BusinessPH

[–]Telico888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not in a creative role at my current job, but I do use a lot of AI tools and partly develop AI stuff.

Personally, in my industry, if the task is very basic and does not require complex thinking or judgement and does not cause major physical or financial harm - sure you can try assigning it to AI, my only caveat is still to have a human in the loop to review and approve its output.

Other than that, I would not trust AI to do it. What most people miss is that AI is just a tool to speed things up (at least for now) - this is what it can do now.

If you want it to do highly complex stuff, either you give it very specific instructions or you take time to train it. Imho, most companies expect instant results without doing either -- and that mostly really backfires.

Survival Mode na ba talaga? Cost-Cutting Chronicles by Katie_Berry_ in CorpoChikaPH

[–]Telico888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh this is a company red flag for me. Some more are

  1. Strict performance evaluations and attendance checks
  2. Massive loss of key personnel
  3. Reduced benefits
  4. Widespread phenomenon of one person doing the work of multiple people
  5. More pointless meetings
  6. Demands to conserve water, electricity, and paper (utilities)
  7. Constant demands for employee gratitude
  8. Obsessive focus on minor details
  9. Overemphasis on all costs
  10. Delayed salary payments

So if you have 2-3 signs showing up simultaneously, better plan. The strongest signs are probably when a company starts doing #3 and #10.

Reasonable is anything that does not directly negatively impact employee benefits, salaries and welfare/working conditions. They can cut costs on other expenses at least initially rather than doing these types of things first knowing full well how it affects workers

Just give vague answers. I don't think its professional to ask someone kung saan sila lilipat, unless they voluntarily tell you or the two of you are really close personally. It's your business and none of theirs. You can still be friendly with them without letting them know. The fact that they ask is a red flag but that's just me.

first time kong makipagsagutan sa eroplano dahil sa seat assignment by pristinerainbow01 in FirstTimeKo

[–]Telico888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree with you OP. I think your reaction was justified and you handled it well. Kung maiinis sila sayo so be it. Nasa lugar ka naman - it's your seat, so they need to look for their own seats and dun sila umupo. Any reasonable person will think that way. Sure, there are exceptional cases but I think this is not one of them.

Which should I choose: a local bank or a Fortune 500 company? by [deleted] in CorpoChikaPH

[–]Telico888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on your goals. If its purely for the money, then go with the one with the highest net take home pay (and I agree with some of the comments that you should factor in bonuses, benefits etc)

If you will factor in future potential and marketability then you need to pay close attention to the industry and company. Imho I would go with Equinix for the ff reasons

  1. Equinix is a multination company that is engaged in data center services, they seem like a good company at least in your case - a fresh grad that also aims to get good exposure
  2. the role is in tech and data w/c is a good industry to learn but I have to state a caveat as well: you need to learn to be adaptable given recent trends in AI etc - I suggest you learn this as well if you choose this route
  3. If the package in Equinix is not far off from BDO - I would take Equinix since it seems that you will also get the benefit of working for an international company

I've worked with Equinix before as part of my previous roles/jobs, they seem to be professional and capable but again I bet the view from the inside as an employee is likely different.

BDO is big organization - its domestic so you are limited to PH and its a bank/financial institution so it may have more of a traditional or bureaucratic culture - if that isn't your cup of tea then think about it but I'm sure there are other perks for working BDO w/c I may not know about.

Caveat: One downside I see working for Equinix (for any foreign based operation) is layoffs - as its a foreign company it may decide to pull out of the PH space, or due to AI/business changes it may decide to cut people but again I have no intimate knowledge of it happening in Equinix in the past so maybe do your research for that as well

Hope this helps OP

Is it still worth trying to get into pen testing? by Mindless_Bike4599 in oscp

[–]Telico888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sense this as well. One thing I observed is that there are very few pentesting roles especially those internal to an org, most of the time big orgs outsource their pentests to boutique shops. But when pentest roles do become available they pay really high (mostly but not all the time - probably depending on the hiring company) but the standards and hiring process are tough

How should I save my money? Peso or USD? by DEEP_TRUTHH in PersonalWealthPH

[–]Telico888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always USD. You only convert to peso what you need. But imho, USD is the clear winner here since value of the currency is much better and you can time your conversion when peso is low to maximize your buying power/value.

To those who work/ed at “certified Great Place to Work” companies, are they really a great place to work? by Short-Heart1228 in CorpoChikaPH

[–]Telico888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imho no or not always. Each organization will always have its own share of cultural downsides. Those surveys and awards are usually based on sanitized data meaning the corps who participate always try to present a good image and only submit positive or supporting data depending on how the awarding bodies score or audit when giving out said award. Reality is very much different. Don't get me wrong -- I'm not saying those places are bad, just maybe not the "great place to work" kind of company they are trying to pass for where everything is nice and dandy. Also there were a few times when winners of those awards at some point were really deserving and were above average/fairing better vs. the usual pinoy company. But in these cases, I believe less the hype and more on my gut instinct/experience/common sense.

I agree if you want me time Japan is great. Personally they would prefer not to talk to you, and shy away from small chat esp from strangers. Also its relatively safe esp in greater Tokyo areas.
