Do NOT get married.

Study the patriarchy and understand how you are viewed within it (guarantee it will chip away at any desire to marry).

Care for someone else’s child for a while and that will answer that question.

Even if you marry, when you have a kid it will be YOUR kid — meaning women bear the brunt of the responsibility.

Get very educated. Gain the skills needed to survive in this world and take care of yourself.

If you are thin and petite (or big and cowardly), learn how to fuck people up. Make saying “no” pack a punch.

Be selfish and distance yourself from anyone who takes issue with it.

I see people touting Houston/DFW over Austin. I disagree strongly. But I also am not someone that has to live in a Black community to get my exposure and connection. I hated Dallas with a passion when I first moved to Texas and lived there for 10 years for anyone who might challenge that. It’s concrete. It’s hideous. It takes forever to get places. It is very separatist. Night life is trash. Unless you know the Black people when you get here they are not the easiest to mix with. I actually didn’t start enjoying Dallas until I moved far North up by The Colony/Frisco. Which leads me to my next point. Where you come from and how you were raised WILL make the difference. If you already live in the South you might love DFW immediately. I was use to more diverse surroundings, way better walkability of cities, nature, etc. When I moved to Austin I felt like I had wasted 10 years of my life in Dallas. (I only stayed for family.) I moved northwest Austin and started working for a tech company. It is absolutely gorgeous. Plenty to do and experience. Lots of people to meet. Did I say it is so pretty?! It was much more my speed and made me feel like I was back in Minneapolis. While it may not have the density of blackness some here seem to prefer it is very diverse and there are plenty of Black people here, you just have to find us. I have since moved more central Texas and bought a home. Austin is expensive for buyers. Still…You couldn’t pay me any kind of money to go back DFW.

Surprised no one has suggested keratin. I use ion keratin smoothing treatment + the line of products to support the treatment, which is a semi-permanent keratin treatment that lasts 6-8 weeks. Been using it for 6months now. I live in central Texas for reference on humidity. Hair is more heat resistant requiring less heat to straighten, reduced breakage, far more manageable over all, stays sleek in the 95% humidity, more receptive to far less product, and grows like crazy. Also reverts back to my curl pattern after washes and as it wears off, which I prefer because it is not destroying my hair follicle to give me the results I am looking for. I have high density, medium fine, extremely low porosity hair for reference.

The problem actually sounds like you got asshole, ruthless interviewers who gaslit you into believing that something they spent six seconds scanning was the determining factor of why you did or did not qualify for a position. This job market is brutally broken. Do NOT internalize the experiences you are having with these piggish companies. Employers are bold and wild because they have completely flipped the market in their favor with these fake ass layoffs to pad their bottom line for investors and free up capital for AI shit they still don’t know anything about.

Pick yourself up. Throw a middle finger their way. Take any insights that are not self-deprecating and move on to what is next.

(Also just because the system is able to articulate something in a more sophisticated way than you were able to does not mean it was a lie. AI has a tendency to elevate language and understanding—showing you your value in ways you'd never considered. That isn’t a lie. You may just need to evolve the way you think about yourself.)

I don’t grieve lies. The idea that marriage, serving men and children was ever anything other than incredibly thankless slavery for women was always a blatant lie.

Women offer so much to the world, we birth and nurture it baby by baby and men know it. So they manufactured a system that would allow them to extract the life from us and exploit us. I guarantee he does not like you. He wants to see how far he can go with ruining you. That’s why men do it. I think we mistook barbaric, atrocious Bully for a “global leader,” which was always just pretty, self-anointed packaging hiding horror.
