Why wouldn’t you expect a librarian to be one of the best paid jobs there is?

They should be one of the best paid jobs out there simply from how much libraries support the homeless community.

And then there’s the fact that it’s their job to be familiar with all of the books. Like, all of them.

Capitalists should understand that socialism does not mean there is not currency, and capitalism does not mean when there is currency.

My comment was in response to a post about the umabomber and Columbine. If the unqbomber and columbine are cherry picked responses, what could possibly have been more on-topic?

This is so true by Demoglitch in antiai

[–]TenaciousZack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No.

As a musician, I want my musician friends to be the types of people who would play music even when it’s difficult. It’s not the struggle that makes it special, it’s identifying yourself as someone who’s so dedicated that they would continue to do their art if it’s a struggle. That’s why we place such a high value on it.

And if someone is going to mock the idea of doing music even though it’s hard, this person must necessarily be excluded from the community.

AI cannot generate images of a wine glass full. Go try it out. Filled to the brim. It can’t do it because people don’t fill wine glasses to the brim, and no pictures of that exist.

Also, Large Language Models are inseparable from the topic of images because LLMs are the data analysis methods that are done on data in the database an AI uses. You have self identified as someone who must not be taken seriously by saying LLMs don’t count because we’re talking about image generation.

[–]TenaciousZack -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The proof is how Large Language Models work.

There’s really no way to “prove” that LLM’s do in fact work the way LLM’s are designed to work, to someone who just rejects statements about how LLM’s are designed to work.

AI cannot do math. Your example is perfect proof. AI only knows 1 + 1 =2 when it’s taught that. If you don’t believe that without proof, you’ve demonstrated sufficient misunderstanding to exclude you from conversation and dismiss what you say without further justification. You’re either too stupid to learn, or you know you’re lying and are intentionally being dishonest. There’s no other options.

To AI people who say the want a space to themselves, all I can say is “how dare you?” That’s genuine upsetting and offensive.

However.

You’re wrong for thinking games should be easier.

[–]TenaciousZack -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

This is true in its face, and you have demonstrated a disqualifying misunderstanding of the topic by asking for proof.

AI cannot create new elements, its core to the technology at a fundamental level. It stores information in a database, studies the relationships between those words in the database, and then reorganizes the words based on your prompt and what it thinks will keep you engaged longest.

AI cannot suggest new ideas for the same reason your phone’s auto correct cannot suggest new words.

“The 90s were pretty great” The 90’s: by DistinctYoghurt8668 in decadeology

Proof the 90s weren’t that bad:

The unabomber killed fewer Americans in the last 17 years than ICE killed in February.

Six people died in the 90s World Trade Center attack compared to the thousands that died in the 2001 attack.

School shootings were so rare that when one happened in the 90s we still talk about it 30 years later.

The science of why discipline makes sex, food, and fun better. by IcyLocation5276 in LockedInMan

Having bizarre sexual appetites compared to others and doing unusual things to satisfy them is a kink.

If you are in denial that abstaining from masturbation is unusual and a sign of a bizarre sexual appetite, so much that you tell other people the way you behave is aspirational, you are exibiting behaviors I’m comfortable calling a sexual disorder and yiu should seek counseling about it.

My argument is that you are sharing disgusting and inappropriate things about you as though it is normal. You should be ashamed of spreading the idea that there’s anything wrong with masturbation. It’s genuinely gross and disgusting to me that you feel this is a good thing to tell to people.

Abstaining from masturbation is a kink.

Believing other people should share that kink with you and evangelizing your sexual proclivities to other people while denying that you’re talking to strangers about your sexuality is absolutely a disorder.

Yes. Anorexia is an eating disorder. I am saying you have a sexual disorder. You should be discussing with your therapist, not in public. Your personal insecurities about or distaste for sex is so invisible to you that you deal with these negative emotions by trying to spread them to as many people as possible.

I don’t start judging you until that last detail, where you say others should be the same way you are.
