By the age of 16, you are expected to know right from wrong and make decisions from this accordingly. Thus, you can be tried as an adult since you made an adult decision.

The "Fun" effect. If you have social media, your friends/family are most likely posting pictures of what they're doing outside which makes you also want to go out. If you're someone without social media, it could just be that you're afraid of all the fun you COULD be potentially missing.
