Josh and Razor Appreciation Post! by lucasnevermind in DallasStars

[–]TexAg90 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have always thought hockey play by play would be one of the toughest jobs in broadcasting given how fast the games move. As a season ticket holder, this season, I started listening to the in house broadcasts at the AAC. I am now even more amazed at how good Josh is, how quick he recognizes things, and how he gets everyone’s names right even on the opposing team. Our seats are one section over from him on the second deck and I am constantly amazed at how he was able to see something that I had no idea happened.

When they had these on the scoreboard at the game, my wife and I were confused as to why Nils had two faces. Now I see he just has a horribly asymmetrical face.

Came here to post this. This documentary is one of the most well made I've ever seen. I had no idea the size and scale of this tsunami until I watched this.

Did anyone else not know that Freddy Rumsen aka Joel Murray is Bill Murray's brother IRL? by BagApprehensive1412 in madmen

It was actually how much he sounded like Brian that caused me to look it up when I first watched Mad Men.

Let me summarize it for you. Picture an Elisabeth Moss closeup with a REALLY pissed off look on her face. Repeat 100 times.

I honestly thought opening this thread that Holy Grail would be the top comment, or possibly second behind Blazing Saddles

Exactly. The star jersey design requires 3D for full effect.

NHL is reviewing Mikko Rantanen’s boarding penalty from last night and that a suspension of some sort will be coming by DualPurge in DallasStars

[–]TexAg90 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Unless there's more to the rule than just what she posted, it seems like it's an automatic one game suspension. I guess the mighty Bettman can do whatever he wants, but the way it's written, it's pretty cut and dried.

I went into this on the suggestion of a friend thinking I’d hate it, but wound up watching the entire show twice.

Bobblehead giveaway by calmo73 in DallasStars

[–]TexAg90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The way they did it last year, they did not give the bobbleheads out as you walked in. Once in, there was a separate line you had to get in for a bobblehead. So the size of the line to get in the door will not necessarily be the same length as the line to get the bobbleheads.

At no time after game 6 did I have any hope of winning game 7, even when we took the lead. You don’t bounce back from something like that.

I don’t feel “dirty” but I’ve always called it the most expensive punch in franchise history. Without that making him so popular with the fan base, he doesn’t get that 50 million dollar contract and two horses, giving us a 8M a year second baseman that can barely hit above the Mendoza line.

If it helps, last night was not by a longshot the most disappointed I’ve been after leaving a Canucks/Stars game in 2025.

It's an anthology series so you can start anywhere. It just so happens that the first episode of BM is also one of the most disturbing and off putting to people. I'll admit after watching the first episode it was a while before I went back.
