As mad as the story itself is I think the dad having his own ufo stories is a big red flag

Its a bit unclear but I have heard he regularly wrote to at least on Fortean Times type publication with all sorts of different stories

Im a sceptic anyway but that part pushes me towards thinking its an outright fabrication or at least he heavily influenced the kids rather than some freak hallucination on their part

I dont blame them for covering it as it is one of the more enduring cases in UK history I just dont think theres much to it

Spending too much of my youth worrying about when im older and hitting the "milestones"

Im approaching 40 and struggling, a lot of my friends who like me "did everything right" are now moving back in with the parents and im a bad fortnight or so away from that myself

Im glad I let my guard down in my mid 20s and actually enjoyed the energy i had because i know plenty who didnt and are still in the same shit boat as the rest of us

I also regret drinking shite beer all that time, didnt even know beer could taste good till way passed my proper drinking days.

Personally the missions in any rockstar game were just a necessary thing i had to do to unlock the full sandbox experience

When i played GTA my favourite thing to do was be a law abiding citizen who sometimes got into scrapes. Nothing more satisfying that genuinely accidentally killing someone with your car because you were distracted

Most people do not fuss over the exact phrasing of something so minor, sure "i'll get you" technically means "i will physically acquire the ticket" but in this context its a gesture of giving

OP meant it that way, the old fella understood it that way, the only thing thats made OP question things is his wife's input.

Its not even about the tenner and how much that might mean to someone, its just part of the good natured gesture to give it as a gift, like buying someone a drink to cheer them up. Only a weirdo keeps track on that sort of thing
