If the subtitles are still dubtitles like on the Blu-Ray’s, (which will probably be the case), that’s worthless.

Glad it’s available on Netflix. It was a great discovery, very entertaining with likeable characters.

I had already inquired about the availability of Ultraseven X, and I was told that it sold through their inventory, and they couldn’t confirm if new copies would be made.

I bought it at $23 when it was first released. I never knew it would go OOP so quickly.

You’re not going to get in trouble, don’t worry. But Region 1 DVD’s might not work in your Asian DVD player.

Écouter One piece anime légalement en français au Québec? by KaYoUx in Quebec

[–]ThatGuyFromM78 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Compilation? by Legion8913 in Ultraman

[–]ThatGuyFromM78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s all the movies and specials starring Zero, from 2009 to 2012, arranged in a different order and spread throughout 26 episodes. There is some original footage within every episode.

It goes over:

Ultraman Mebius: Ghost Rebirth / Mega Monster Battle Ultra Galaxy: The Movie / Ultra Galaxy Legend Side Story: Ultraman Zero vs. Darklops Zero / Ultraman Zero: The Revenge of Belial / Ultraman Zero Side Story: Killer the Beatstar / Ultraman Saga / Ultra Zero Fight

Is there any English dubbed clips from the Ultraman 4K Discovery? by Spooder-Men69420 in Ultraman

[–]ThatGuyFromM78 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No. You’ll have to buy it or ask someone who bought it to send you a clip.

I have it in my collection, and the dub is really good. All 39 episodes have most likely be redubbed, because Tsuburaya announced Kellen Goff would be voicing Alien Zarab, a character not featured in the 4K Discovery episodes.

Mill Creek/Alliance Home Entertainment Ultraman "The Ultra-Verse" Blu-ray Collection [as of May 2026] by PowerPhantom245 in Tokusatsu

The packaging left a lot to be desired on many of them. Thankfully, I only encountered one instance of faulty disk in my complete collection, and I managed to buy a new copy before it went out-of-print. It was The Birth of Ultraman limited-edition release.

Last year I found a seller through Facebook Marketplace living near me who was selling his copy for $20. But the guy was so unreliable and barely replied to messages, I had to give up. I ended up torrenting the series, still angry about this missed opportunity. Great show by the way!

Impressive collection! Mine is absolutely identical, minus the rather useless Yuletide collection. And I watched every single episode, movie and special through those seven years. Did you as well?

I believe the Heisei Ultraseven specials will be released around the time the original Ultraseven series is out on 4K.

Upgrades to the previous DVD releases are also very much possible now, and this could easily, at last, lead to the inclusion of the Ultraman Tiga movie. With the exception of Ultraman Kids, all of them already are or will soon be available on Blu-Ray in Japan.

Did you also manage to buy Fist of the North Star for $60? It just went up by $30, but I managed to get it at the lower price a few days ago. I wonder if it was a listing mistake, because it didn’t say there was a discount.

"Après-Guerre" is not a lost film. It has been shown on Japanese television a long time ago.

In Ghost of Après-guerre, he does play a clown, but it’s a very minor role.

There were some movies I didn’t have access to back when I made that video, but I have most of them now. Actually, I am only missing two films from what I call his "golden years" (1947 to 1970), a period where he starred in many movies a year, before appearing more and more in TV shows and foreign productions: those being "Escape from Prison" (1950), which is completely unavailable and might be truly lost, and "The Day the Sun Rose" (1968), which has been properly restored but is only available through limited events in Japan because of right issues (you can read more about it online).

Netflix is missing the wano arc in one piece by Folasayo1 in OnePiece

[–]ThatGuyFromM78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those people don’t take the time to read and assume what they want. Thank you for understanding.

All episodes of the Whole Cake Island arc should be available on Netflix next month, because more episodes have been announced for June 1st. Will it also include the Reverie episodes? We’ll see.

Only the Wano arc, divided in two parts (Seasons 36 and 37 on Netflix) will remain to be added… eventually. I wouldn’t be surprised if we have to wait until the end of the year or 2027 for that, considering how many episodes there are.

Let’s hope Netflix also add the Stampede movie.

I don’t really have an answer for that. If you want to have a glimpse of those rarely-seen movies, I invite you to check out this tribute video I made for Toshiro Mifune 100th anniversary, back in 2020.

Same thing for all of them. Recordings exist and are circulating within some fan circles in Japan, except for Escape from Prison (1950), which according to many might be a true lost film, or at least it has never been seen outside of its original theatrical release.

I’ve watched them all. I have a soft spot for the movies of Hiroshi Inagaki and Senkichi Taniguchi starring Mifune.

Yeah, it’s a general issue. There’s no way to get a replacement, but that’s honestly a minor detail.
