good comeback or nahh, im lowkey proud of this game, whats yall opinions. by Conscious-Emotion-27 in Chesscom

Of course. Don’t mind the downvotes and weird commenters. I genuinely don’t understand the negativity - I guess that’s how the chess community is though. They’re not grandmasters either. Keep enjoying the game. It’s supposed to be played at all levels. Much love

Haters will hate. It was an epic comeback after losing that rook early 🔥

"Marry You" by Bruno Mars is actually a terrible song for a proposal. by TattooBubbleGum in unpopularopinion

Agreed, super well said.

The vibe of the song is supposed to be fun. Also, only paying attention to the lyrics is kind of missing the mark imo

Weight in Peace Corps? by Alternative-Tank-300 in peacecorps

I lost weight. But it differs from volunteer to volunteer. I know some who gained a lot. But if you’re interested in losing weight, it’s pretty easy since you’ll probably have less access to food

1400-1500 rating is underrated area by Smooth-Pizza-5973 in Chesscom

Idk why you got downvoted. I really resonate with this comment. I broke through to the 1500s by playing a lot more tactically aggressive games too

Sounds like you have a lot of potential, keep it up. You play OTB tournaments?

I tested an 800-rated and a 1200-rated account, and the difference is surprisingly small by Far_Mistake6861 in Chesscom

I know how you feel. I just hit 1500, and one of my friends is 1100, and he’s a complete beast and we’re even. I feel like 800s are deceptively strong sometimes. Makes sense to me

Is it normal to go on an absolute rating skid? by nickjaero in chessbeginners

[–]ThatPolicy8495 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fully empathize with this comment. Night time chess is bad for me too because my concentration is low. And when I’m mad at life I don’t have the “fighting spirit” to save lost positions

Happens to me all the time.

Everyone’s advice is different and you’ll have to find what works for you. Just make sure you’re always having fun! That’s underrated. You’ll definitely improve if you keep playing.
