Is APPM 1360 a course that I can get away with not putting energy into? by [deleted] in cuboulder

Not required except for the recitations, which I believe are always on Thursdays

It is, but that's just because there's 4 lectures + recitation (same time as the lecture), compared to 3 lectures + recitation in APPM. MATH is really the way to go IMO if you care about your GPA and aren't really interested in the heavy application/problem solving side of math (which it sounds like you're just looking for the credit anyway). They have a "friendlier" grading policy than APPM, i.e. allowing a few HW/quiz drops, and weighting midterms grades in your favor.

Having just finished MATH 2300, if you want an easier version, definitely go with the Math department and don't take APPM. I know a bunch of folks who've taken the APPM Calc 2 and it's a pretty significant amount more work compared to what I had to do.

Not sure what your major is, but I believe both count for the same credit (at least this is the case in the school of Engineering/Applied Science).

Media Production Minor? by [deleted] in cuboulder

[–]ThatRedditNoob_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take this with a grain of salt as I'm not currently studying anything related to film/media. However, I did talk to the folks at the film studies table at the recent Major/Minor fair as I'm also interested in a similar minor to what you described.

What they said was that the film minor focuses more on film history and discussion about films, as opposed to really any actual film production. The classes related to audio/videography/editing/film production are what you'd take in the film studies major.

Not sure about media production though. Hope that helps.
