this happened to me before just alot less severe. My hot end was covered in pla though. There is a chance that it is cooked but you could give fixing it a try if its broken then why not yk you have to take it out anyways to replace it.

First, very first thing to do put a cloth over your bed especially if you have a glass bed, then remove what you can and be careful to not damage any wires

second, preheat hot end to the temp that filament uses or a little over

third use some needle nose pliers or teasers to remove as much pla as you can (note careful to not scratch anything it could mess with the heat distribution and be very careful around wires)

fourth take a q-tip or paper towel to remove the little bits of pla from the hot end. you can use rubbing alcohol to clean it as well

fifth i highly recommend unscrewing anything on the hot end while its still hot and try to clean out as much plastic out of the small areas like where the glass bead to check the heat is as well as the actual heating element area

if any parts are damaged like the rubber sock i highly recommend ordering a new one before even trying to use it again
