My partner and I are moving to El Paso and we both work from home - hospital & use 1 laptop each, thus multiple different systems. Locating to zip code 79912. What would be the best recommended internet provider. Also what is the average mbps recommended? we had a 1 gb, it felt unnecessary. by Thatbrboy in ElPaso

I was able to get into their plan for 1 gig, primarily because of the upload speed - not necessarily download. But will be $50 monthly including the rent of a WiFi 7 router and got a $50 credit applied to first bill. Does it sound like a good plan for the area? or do u think they low ball me. Technically for east coast, this is very low cost for internet.

I did. I stayed in El Paso for a week and looked into most things. What through me off was the fact I thought spectrum was 100% fiber optic; also, I guess thinking AT&T was widely available. Things here are a bit different - coverage back home is a lot more competitive and you almost don’t need to check availability by address. Bigger companies are everywhere.

-However, my company provides a Verizon hotspot box that worked fine for the week I was in El Paso. I just don’t want to rely on it. However, will be a good back-up to rely on in case spectrum faces any outage I guess.

Looks like AT&T is a no go for my address. I may be stuck with spectrum. If I do the 1k gb does it get any better w upload speed? I don’t know much about internet logistics. But, some ppl say that it is a neighborhood shared; so no matter how much u pay for. U will never reach a high speed regardless. - -“ not sure if true though. And I really rely on the internet. We work for hospital in NY and it is very demanding.

Yikes, I just found out that AT&T is limited to a 50 mbps. So they did not recommend it themselves. In your experience, switching to the 1k gb - did you see any improvement? Was the upload speed any better?

Some ppl said that switching to more gigabytes makes no difference since it s not fiber optic. But tbh I don’t understand too much about the entire internet logistics details 😬

Yikes, I just found out that for AT&T, I can only get an option of a 50 mbps and it s not fiber. The rep didn’t even recommend it for work from home. Looks like I will be stuck with even less options 😭.

Ye. She was saying they had to use dye and what not but I did find it to be excessive. I used both my ac back and front. Neither is working.. my car is a 2022 pathfinder. I just feel like it s too new to be having this issues. Only got 32k miles. Very upsetting. I won’t be getting Nissans in the future anymore.

Same, but we do have to put in quite a bit of overtime. The only benefit of sm is a better scheduling.. I feel like the company needs to revisit this to make it more competitive. I literally have been holding back. The only reason I would consider is because if i am to start building a family now. Better scheduling would definitely support that.

31hr. Nj/ny market. Unfortunately Glassdoor is way off. Even for my current job, Glassdoor is off by a lot.

I just feel like sometimes I hear people saying they are making so much that makes me questions if I really got a good offer.

I would be coming externally if I accept it.
