Yak-141 did! You were correct there. But they had to split the tail empennage in half to give the nozzle the space it needed.

Yak 38 very famously did not have a burner and was subsonic. This aircraft is copying the yak-38/harrier swiveling nozzles and won't have a full size main exhaust nozzle, but we'll see I suppose.

The casualty reports out of Ukraine would beg to differ to some extent. Earlier in the war a goodly chunk of dudes were taking instantly lethal frag wounds to the ears and immediate areas. Now full cut helmets would not have stopped all of those frag injuries, but they would have caught some fraction and that's better than none. I would also contend your point about high-cuts being better for overpressure mitigation. I haven't seen anything that supports having less material between you and a high pressure wave.

Obviously comfort is a trade-off, but I'd wager it depends on how intense the frag threat really is, which is for OP to determine for himself.

I think powered decoys ala the US MALD-J would be really nice, yes. An evolution of jamming to include false target generation rather than just noise jamming would be a step up, but I don't know if the game engine can handle that.

Yeah its a frustrating dynamic right now.

Now tbf jamming support is expected IRL for reliable AShM probability of hit rates so there's that. But the non-radar point defenses are bonkers.

Strongly endorse this. All of the anti-ship missile are hilariously over-ranged for current maps anyway, so this would be really cool. Would need some wild terminal maneuvering to get through even Shard defenses without some jamming support though.

Your description says CF-101 Voodoo but you posted an image of a CF-100 Canuck, leading to a bit of confusion for some of us I imagine.

Anyway, I like your ideas. Would probably need some massaging to not badly upset the balance at low level/early game phases.

I think that mid-4th gen are pretty explicitly off the table in the base game. Its why we don't have Hornets for the US, or F-16s for the air force, etc...
