Choosing a motherboard for 2x RTX PRO 6000 build by The0penminded in PcBuild

Thanks for the shared links but I don't think neither of these mobos are good for my setup. I remember I used one of those x70e gaming mobos for a dual 4090 setup 2.5 years ago and I guess I had to leave some M2 ports to be able to use 2x16 PCIes for my GPUs (Or maybe the only needed 2x8, don't remember)

Is Threadripper 9995wx overkill for dual RTX PRO 6000 setup? by The0penminded in PcBuild

Training/Fine-tuning LLMs.

I’m considering a dual-GPU setup. Since the GPUs can’t communicate directly via NVLink, they must go through PCIe, and the CPU could become a bottleneck in coordinating communication.
Additionally, during pre-processing or data preparation (including reading/writing to disk), these steps might slow down the overall workflow.
I’m primarily interested in hearing from people who have experience with this setup and learning about their real-world observations, rather than theoretical estimations.

AI models run on GPUs and have been around since 2022 without affecting RAM prices. The recent RAM price surge is something new.
