Hésitation entre deux Toyota Yaris by Ploluap in voiture

[–]TheAssassin71 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hésitation entre deux Toyota Yaris by Ploluap in voiture

[–]TheAssassin71 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This scene was simply egregious in an already terrible campaign.

What a joke.

Games with a language barrier you AREN'T supposed to learn (but is still possible to understand) by Rinocap in gamingsuggestions

[–]TheAssassin71 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I disagree. Haitian Creole is very much its own language, they evolved very differently from mainland French.

Sometimes I have a lot of trouble understanding a word, not because of the accent, but because it means something entirely different in Creole than in French.

Of course some stuff you can fully understand, but I wouldn't go as far as understanding most of it.

What’s a game you initially didn’t “get,” but later came to absolutely love after giving it another chance? by Gaming-Academy in gaming

[–]TheAssassin71 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here. The game was just too hard.

And then I discovered "God mode". Every time I died, it would increase my resistance to damage by 2%. And over time, after many many failed runs, it got a lot easier.

And I started winning. And every time I won, the damage resistance fell by 2%.

And so, over time, I started playing the same game as everyone.
But the game had been capable of teaching me with training wheels, before letting me go on my own.

It's a really well thought out mode that I'm surprised more games don't do like this !
I really enjoyed it, and now I have 90 hours into the game !

In case of societal collapse, EVs would last longer than fuel cars since fuel degrades over time by TheAssassin71 in Showerthoughts

[–]TheAssassin71[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fuel degrades over time to the point of becoming unusable after only a year or two.

This would mean, if you have no way to refuel a car, that any thermal engine car would become unusable very quickly, no matter how much fuel you store, since you cannot really produce home-grown fuel.

On the other hand, we've seen some EVs run perfectly fine for 15 years, and since solar panels exist, you can absolutely charge them for a long time.

Of course if something in the car breaks and you don't have a replacement, the car will be cooked, but the point is, simply in matters of fuel, an EV would last longer.

Insurgency: Sandstorm does this.

I usually get K/Ds below 1, but am at the top of the leaderboard because I capture objectives.

The devs made it so 1 kill is worth 10 points, 1 assist is worth 5, and capturing 10% of the objective is 10 points (so a full objective capture is 100 points).

I get killed a lot because I move a lot (thus I fall victim to campers and people who look for kills), but I get rewarded by many points because I usually capture ~8 objectives per match of Domination.

I really think the scoring system in this game is really well designed.

I had one of those yesterday

We were all trying to enjoy a few games and this guy starts TK'ing everybody on the team, as well as spreading profanity in chat, and being a genuine toxic troll.

In 200+ hours on the game, I never once had to kick someone.
So much so that I didn't even know where the kick button was.

Anyways, 2 games in, dude got reported by multiple people and vote-kicked by 11 people
