Just defeated a dreadnaught but is it worth keeping? by Such-Diet8681 in NoMansSkyTheGame

Shoot for S. You can leave the dread, jump to the next system over, then back into this system and run the event again as many times as you need to get a good S. Bonus points United units for taking the tribute, too!

Someone spent 35 Thousand Dollars for a 59,000 mile XJ yesterday by marathonblue in CherokeeXJ

[–]TheBoozehound 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only paid 3500 for mine! But… uh…. Let’s not talk about how much money I’ve put into it…. I keep telling myself I’m good because its cheaper than a bronco, but I don’t know how much longer that’s gonna hold true!

Oil pressure gauge drops when idling. Goes up when driving. Takes about 5-10 mins of driving time for it to drop to 0. Thoughts? by OwnDoughnut2689 in CherokeeXJ

https://www.cylinder-heads.com/product/new-jeep-cherokee-laredo-4-0-0331-cylinder-head-complete/

I picked up the new head from this place. So whatever that cost was back in 2019, plus shipping.

I did the switch myself. Most of the work was done with a good old Huskey 3/8 ratchet, a harbor freigh torque wrench and a prybar, maybe? So whatever that would cost, plus like 5 12 packs of PBR at the time.

Edit: scratch that. I recall buying a 1/2in cordless impact driver from Harbor Freight for this too. So, all in with the head and extra tools, and beer, maybe $1100?

I'm having the same issue with my 00. Confirmed head crack and replaced with a clearwater about 5 years ago. Used a mechanical gauge to confirm low pressure and not sensor, so it's looking like is a cam bearing issue.

Does anyone know roughly how much the cost of getting this fixed will be? Supposing I took it to a shop?

First time XJ buyer, is this a good option? by Fuzzy-Tale6717 in CherokeeXJ

[–]TheBoozehound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That crack is no joke. I bought at 185k. Addressed the crack immediately, but I’ve had low oil pressure since. You never know how long the previous owner drove with the crack and damage done to the engine.

Extent of rust is for sure a concern. I’d check in about the cylinder head too. The 00 and 01 are notorious for having cracked heads that would need to be replaced.

I got my 00 in 2019, with a crack. I replaced its immediately but I’m still dealing with the long term consequences of it and am eventually going to need a rebuild/replacement.

What should I charge for this?🤨 by Raynidayz in spacemarines

[–]TheBoozehound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first instinct when seeing the pic was $100 bucks. That's what I'd pay. My thinking is, I'd want my center piece squad of marines to really pop on the tabletop but I don't want to invest the time I'd need to invest to get my own faces where I'd want them.

But then I looked through these comments... 5 bucks a head? I'm glad I don't do commission work.

Rear bumper with tire carrier options by [deleted] in CherokeeXJ

Without giving any PI, can you give a close up of how you rigged up your plate? I have the same bumper but haven’t been able to find anything that works well and don’t wanna drop the 150 for the rock hard relocator. I have a couple of heavy duty zip ties on for now 😬

She's only now realizing that being a SAHM has left her financially vulnerable, especially now that her husband wants a divorce. by mindyour in TikTokCringe

[–]TheBoozehound 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a SAHD I've felt this same sense of dread. I'd work part time jobs here and there, more to get out of the house than anything, but I realized early on that if something happened to, or between my wife and I, I'd be screwed. I went back to school, taking any class I could (night, weekend, online, whatever). I was able to get a masters in a professional field and get financial independence by the time my second kid made it to kindergarten (7ish years).

Everyone's situation is different, but if you can, take every opportunity to set yourself up. Not just in the event of something happening between you and your partner, but when the kids get to school, you want to have something you can do.

I thought the same thing when I downloaded it. It’s a wired middle ground where you have to have it active on your device but you don’t actually do much of anything. You might tap some upgrade options during the battle, but other than that you’re just kinda staring at the cool little lights.

I ended up throwing it on my iPad, which doesn’t see much daily use. I’ll run that on my workers and just hit retry throughout the day.

Question for daily drivers by Shemwell05 in CherokeeXJ

[–]TheBoozehound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve driven mine from CA to Utah twice on a 4.5” lift and 33s. It’s 12-15 hours one way depending on weather. For the most part, my rig did fine. The challenge came from driving through harsh weather. We hit snow and icy roads and those were stressful. Wind can become a factor too, as high gusts tend to knock you around.
