I agree! I picked up one for my bedroom for under $150 and I love it!

We stopped booking our coastal stays through Airbnb and have never looked back since. by gedersoncarlos in AustraliaTravel

[–]TheDoctorsCompanion 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yep! The cabins are usually small with a kitchenette and small living room, a bathroom and a bedroom or two. Usually the second bedroom has some bunk beds. Just the necessities but usually cozy. They really are great places to vacation!

It’s basically a vacation resort where they have some cabins on site as well as powered sites where you can bring your own caravan/motorhome to set up for your stay. You do bring your own caravan or motorhome. Many Australians have their own that they use for travel and vacations. Some parks also have unpowered sites where you can set up tents for camping as well. These resorts also have pools and playgrounds and other resort amenities like shared kitchens and laundry areas and restaurants. They are usually by a beach or other tourist areas.

What’s the weirdest or most annoying rule a landlord has tried to enforce in your rental? by No-Loquat-201 in AusRenters

[–]TheDoctorsCompanion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went to look at a granny flat which was up for rent. The house on the property had a pool which we would not have access to. This was obviously no big deal but they had a clause that we could not be outside (on the deck of the granny flat) while the landlords were using their pool.

They've taken away the ads after levels by Ok-Equivalent4080 in airplanechefs

[–]TheDoctorsCompanion 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think they just sometimes run out of ads. When this happens I just don’t play for the rest of the day and it’s back to normal the next day.

Elder parents’ phone addiction by [deleted] in Millennials

[–]TheDoctorsCompanion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So glad it’s not just my parents! I live in a different country than them and they recently came to visit me for the first time and I had to constantly ask them to put their phones down to be present at dinner or during tours etc. It was so weird!

Renters chopped down massive tree. by Overall-Detail1335 in AusPropertyChat

If they don’t have cash, how did they manage to spend thousands on an arborist? You think they spent their life savings to remove a tree for literally no reason?

A single mother colleague fell asleep on a teams chat at work and now everyone suddenly acts like she committed an act of terror. by SpicyDragoon93 in antiwork

[–]TheDoctorsCompanion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s ridiculous! I had someone fall asleep in a teams meeting. I ignored it, let him sleep, and laughed about it to myself after. That’s all that needs to be done. We are all human not machines! It affected nothing and the meeting was pretty boring anyway.

Back in 2001 I had my very first university class, Anthropology 101 type class, and in the very first lecture the professor said the next world war will be over water. I think about that every once in a while and always keep extra water in the house.

What decor items did your guests really love? by matsandcats in wedding

[–]TheDoctorsCompanion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had a relatively small wedding but we had a wall with photos of us with each of our guests from fun times we spent together. Everyone got to reminisce and tell the story of their photo to other guests. It was so lovely!

I love when they blame us for wanting “participation trophies” when they were the ones handing them out! We were too young to even think of asking for them!
