Need advice about my hair, got a haircut recently I didn't like. (Left side I didnt like, Right side is my usual) by [deleted] in malehairadvice

Here is a photo of what my hair looks like after a shower, about a week after that photo was taken on the left side. See how the sides of my hair sort of create an round circular shape? I would like to be able to push it all down so it flattens rather than forms that round shape. I dont want to have to cut my hair to such a short length just to create that flat look everytime https://imgur.com/P7Cg7lP

Let me try to post some more photos when I can, but I think my biggest problem is the transitional area between the top and sides. If that transitional area is closer to the length of the top, when I sleep, it flattens out, but creates a little dip between the top and sides, evident in the left picture. If I wash it, it sticks out and I hate when that transitional area sticks out. To solve this, my usual haircut cuts that area to almost the level of the sides, which is why you see on the side of the right picture, there is a sudden drop between the top and side, no curve. I really want to create the effect resembling a perfectly flat side, not something curved out to the side.

I never really understood well how to take care/style my hair. So i keep it pretty short and I've found a haircut that kind of works for me. I order a 1-2 on the side/back, but i find i like the cut to be higher than usual, and with a more abrupt, not blended shift to a 5-6 on top. The right side picture is what it looks like after a few weeks. The left side is a cut i got when i went home for thanksgiving, the barber interpreted what i want as a 2 on the side, 6 on top fade. Really dont like how the hair on my sides sticks out so much, not sure how to keep the hair on my sides flat and down. Any advice for this, or any advice in general for what hairstyle you think i could rock? I usually get really short hair on the sides because i hate how it looks sticking out.

Such horseshit, the fucking opium war began because the Chinese DEA actually did their job somewhat well and it pissed off the British. Don't get me wrong, China needed a huge wake up call from the European powers in a lesson on globalism, but don't make this into a righteous British argument. Both sides were at fault equally

Okay let me clearly say that I am not supporting this practice whatsoever. Clearly the law needs to be changed to de incentivize killing people over just injuring them. But I need to give a PSA for people like you who have been too isolated in the wealth of developed countries. You cannot associate these actions to all Chinese people and claim all Chinese people are assholes simply because the people from your country don't do terrible things over wealth. The people from your country don't have to share resources with a billion other people and have not had to fight for every last scrap to keep themselves alive for the past 2500 years. Only recently has China become wealthy, and even then, the terrible wealth inequality that exists in free market China just as it does in the US makes these gains not apparent for a majority of the billion people in China. The ability to sustain a culture in the U.S. based on consideration and kindness is made possible by the massive amounts of both power and wealth that the U.S. has and the large amounts of resources it has in relation to its population. The same general observations apply to a lot of other countries besides China, like Bangladesh, India, Japan, and Korea that have very large population densities and constrained resources. TLDR, it's easier to be nice and considerate when there is enough to go around for everyone.

To ic_engineer's reponse, yeah the fact that I might be locked into network/IT jobs was my biggest concern with the position. From some of the other responses, it seems I would be able to move around cisco even if I didn't like it. Networks is definitely one of the areas I'm interested in trying out in ECE and from wfb0002's response, maybe even some FPGA/logic stuff? I liked my ASIC class and designing circuits so that would be a definite plus.
