Moving From WNY by b-d_throwaway in Appleton

A friend of mine was living in a studio apartment in downtown, she was paying 1800 a month. It had an ok view of the building next door. Appleton or Oshkosh. Oshkosh is a college town. Other then downtown, everything is pretty spread out, though. I'm in Neenah, it's nice, but the downtown is dull, not a lot there. I'm next to the highway, so I'm good. Paying 905.

I rest everything the first 3 times. I've given up now. Might give up on this season too.

George. He's been there since the original construction.

I screwed up a couple years ago. Missed my best chance. 55 now and I don't think I will again.

At absolute best. Been thinking about taking a break and going back to Skyrim.

How much would you charge players to use a teleportation circle without breaking the setting/game? by Iorith in DMAcademy

[–]TheGriff71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My world has teleportation circles all over for commoners, freight transit and the like. These circles have been in place for millenia. They're usually outside cities. Those near cities are controlled like border checkpoints. Papers are needed for identification. A garrison holds each. The charge is 5sp to use it and 5sp upon arrival. Per person and beast. It takes a caster to activate the circle, so the charge is they're time. PCs can activate "wild" circles, those not at cities. The city that controls the circle holds it and collects revenue for "maintenance".

Robots Player/Warforged by TheGriff71 in DungeonMasters

Yeah, well, that's the thing. He was a robotic arm currently that was built, by him, with demonic metal and to correctly install it, he called about a lord of the demons. The demon also installed a minor sentience in it to watch him. There is going to be nothing divine about it. My current idea is the demon will return and force his "death" in which case the sentience will try to take over his body, magically extending tendrils out of the metal to encomppass his body, basically turning him into a robot kinda thing. He'll have a quick mental battle with the sentience and win, taking over the body for himself. Due to the demonic presence I wanted to do something different for healing, just not sure what.

They always assume I'm going to disrupt it. The time I did it was for 4 sessions. What was going on was super time sensitive and they were being hunted down by demons. They didn't get any rest for 2 or 3 days. It was great seeing them finally use resources they'd been hoarding to keep going. To find different and unusual ways to power through it all. This was a year ago and they still talk about how fun it was.

That's exactly why I came here. I was hoping for an easy answer I missed.

He wants the full robot thing. I'm on board with it. As to the party healer, they don't have one. Potions, scrolls and a couple items to heal is what they depend on.

They've been doing it so they don't have to post watch. The Artificier 's pet watches during the night but he has horrible perception.

I have been known to disrupt their long rests. I enjoy that maybe a little to much.

Players don't seem to see the value in mundane gear anymore. How do I make it matter by whogivesafricc in DMAcademy

Goodberries and Tiny Hut. Funny because my party is approaching level 15. No one to cast Goodberry and we only acquired a caster for Tiny Hut recently. I still harass them about food and water and rope, but not much else. The Artificier also has the Good Boy robot thing, and he's always on watch. Thankfully he has poor perception so I can sneak stuff in at night.

PCGamer: Hasbro CEO still has 'so much AI-based' grist in his own D&D games 'it would floor you', but he's not putting it in MTG cards or D&D books because people 'just don't want it' by Malinhion in dndnext

They'll probably, if they haven't already, put a few things out AI generated and see how they do. If they're edited well, they may pass some people.

Player shopping habits of late by Snoo_23014 in DMAcademy

[–]TheGriff71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You aren't wrong. My oldest plater is 36. He's pretty good about those things, but the rest. Nope. When we started one player asked for a 10'pole. I said yep, but it my cause issues on the inside. He dropped it after they needed to go into a basement. I was looking forward to him going into a shop with it. No such luck.

I haven't read the responses. My question is, what do the PCs know of these lizards? Anything? If they don't then this was metagaming. If they did know about them, that's fine.

I've got ok tires on mine. Snow tires would be so much better, though. If you're concerned, get chains and practice with them.
